Could Ashton Jeanty join the New Orleans Saints? The Boise State Broncos star running back worked out in front of all 32 NFL teams on Wednesday, and Saints running backs coach/associate head coach Joel Thomas was keeping a close eye on him. That extra attention didn't go unnoticed. Jeanty commented on his contact with the Saints when speaking with reporters after his Boise State pro day workout.

"I had dinner with the running backs coach last night," Jeanty told KTVB's Jay Tust. "Met with them at the combine. So definitely been in communication with them during the process."

When asked whether he'd had much contact with Kellen Moore, the Saints head coach and Boise State legend, Jeanty said: "Not much with Kellen, I mean Moore, at the combine you know he's busy getting acclimated, getting ready to coach this year."

It's a deep running back class, but Jeanty is the consensus pick as the best rusher available. He's also widely expected to be picked at No. 6 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders, whose general manager John Spytek was the only GM to attend Boise State's pro day. So while the Saints would probably love to draft Jeanty at No. 9, it's not looking like he'll be on the board when they're on the clock.

What level of interest do the #Saints have in former #BoiseState RB Ashton Jeanty?

New Orleans running back coach Joel Thomas traveled up to Boise this week. Prior to Pro Day today, Thomas and Jeanty went out to dinner last night.
