I'm sure the way he ended up in AZ doesn't sit well with him. He's a good guy and I wish him well in NO, but his best days as a football player are long behind him.

yeah 57! Good luck Mac.

I still have my picture with him after the opener in Washington we lost. Great guy, and a warrior for us.

Who else does NO have in the middle? Will Ronnie Mac start, you think?

According to ESPN.com's depth chart, Ronnie Mac will begin training camp behind second-year player Courtney Watson (who actually did all right back there as a rookie, appearing in 12 games racking up 57 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 passes defensed) and Cie Grant (a third-year player out of OSU that isn't more than a special teams player).

I'm guessing that if he was signed to start, they wouldn't have waited until the eve of training camp to sign him. If this was a Cards signing and you didn't know him, he'd be camp fodder. Which is what Ronnie Mac is.

I'm looking at the Saints board to see what they think about Ronnie Mac, and it's pretty funny how they talk about Jonathan Sullivan the same way we talk about Wendell Bryant...

Man, maybe there's an "abused football fans syndrome." These guys sound exactly like us. The "veteran leadership" rag. The "experienced player" riff. Looking at stats totally out of context. Every signing is a great signing...

...the constant desire to switch to a 3-4 defense...

McKinnon will be a camp body and maybe a here and there roster spot, nothing more. We have huge potential at the MLB position with 2nd year Courtney Watson and rookie Alfred Fincher(UCONN). I believe both of these guys have huge potential to grow this season.

Cie Grant moved to WSLB due to an early knee injury. His career never got jump started cause of it and the Saints believe the WSLB position might be less wear and tear on his knees. He's a very fast coverage LB. He'll do good at WSLB.
