Gibson did not really do much until the playoffs. He's even less of a PG than Banks and not nearly as good a defender.
Are you trying to convince us that Daniel Gibson isn't as good a player as Marcus Banks? Gibson was great in the playoffs - easily the second-best player on that team in the last two rounds. Credit (well, debit) Mike Brown for not figuring out how to use him until the Conference Finals.

BTW - has there ever been a worse coach to lead a team to the NBA Finals? Watching that team on offense was like going to the dentist. I'd love to see LeBron coached by an offensive coach like a D'Antoni or Karl - that would be so fun to watch.

Welcome to the pickle jar the Suns are in. I really don't think they have any interest in PJ or will sign anyone else except another scrub if S'berry doesn't make it.

By trade deadline the Suns will have paid 2/3 of KT's salary so he will be easily tradeable. They may or may not get a big in return and will probably need to package the ATL pick to get the deal done.

The rest of the league knows the Suns situation and are in no hurry to help them. The overpay of Banks and Diaw are biting them in the arse now.

It's not the league, it's the teams under the cap. Orlando blew their cap space, Atlanta has a lot of big guys and the Suns wouldn't want to help them anyway, and the Bucks do not need to rent an inside guy with their main focus being PG and SF.

So in practical terms, the Bobcats are the only team that COULD be a trading partner for KT. It's not likely they'd do a deal for KT for just the Suns (late 20's pick) and the Atlanat pick is potentiall extremely valuable.

In any case, the Suns cannot afford to play the Spurs without more inside defense. I don't like it with Marks as the only guy other than Amare and KT over 230 pounds let alone trading KT.

The real crazy thing about the Lewis deal is that, in the last year of his deal, he'll be making over $25M. What a joke for any player; even more so for a non-superstar.

Gibson did not really do much until the playoffs.

as opposed to the guy who didn't really do ANYTHING until AFTER the playoffs in the Summer league. And Banks defense may be the single most over-rated thing on this entire board.

The only way we get rid of Banks is absorbing another horrid contract in return. Nobody wanted him at that price last summer and they're certainly not going to demand him now. That's the reality no matter how many times he works the Washington Generals over during the summer league.

And suggesting the Cavs, who have already have two toxic PG contracts in Eric Snow and Damon Jones and a 21 year old point with upside making chump change in Daniel Gibson will take on another horrible player at that position with a bad contract is even more laughable.

I have little doubt KT will be traded.

D'Antoni will be asked "But who will guard Duncan" and D'Antoni will spin some stuff about Amare doing a better job on Duncan blah blah blah.

really they don't need to guard duncan just run more. put LB in the game instead of KT and the suns will just run the spurs off the court. or so says dantoni

Trying to stop duncan is exactly what the spurs want you to do. In the futile attempt, youre putting too many resources into it which allows ginobli and parker to take advantage.

The best job done on Duncan was by Zydrunas Ilgauskas whose main trick is to be really really tall. I'd love to sign Dikembe Mutombo if I thought he had anything left. Last season he averaged only 17.2 minutes but grabbed 6.5 rpg for an unbelievable 0.378 rebounds per minute (Duncan is a great rebounder and he averaged 0.31 per minute).

And the Spurs have shown time and again that they can play and win at a fast pace w/ the Suns.

Two years ago they ran because they the Suns were terribly short handed. Other than that, it's only when the Suns throw the ball away.
