Salary Cap issues are a Farce

I’ve come to the conclusion that salary cap issues are a total farce. GMs can finagle the cap with restructured contracts, voidable years etc. to get under the cap.
The Saints were $75 M over the cap and the Packers were $45M and both teams are now in decent shape and have not really lost any significant players. All GMs can play this game and the bottom line is they ARE NOT mortgaging their future. Plus the cap is going up now every year.
Bottom line for me is if a team says it can’t get into the free agent frenzy because of the cap, that is total BS.

It all depends on the players contract and how it is written.
