Contract terms are coming fast and furious with Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson the latest.
His two-year deal shows a difference from the $16 million originally reported as guaranteed with the actual total being $13.5 million. The base value of $29 million reported is accurate.
Significant is that the contract includes three void years, so the $8.5 million signing bonus can be prorated over five years instead of two.
Tomlinson’s base salaries are $5 million guaranteed this year and $12.74 million in 2026. There is also a $1 million non-guaranteed roster bonus payable in March, 2026. If the Cardinals would decide to move on from him next year prior to paying the roster bonus, they would be left with $6.8 million of dead money against the cap, a savings of nearly $10 million.
The contract includes per-game roster bonuses of $55,882 this year for a maximum total of $950,000 and $41,674 per-game in 2026 for a max total of $710,000. There are workout bonuses of $50,000 each year.
The cap charge for this year is $7.644 and $16.2 million if on the roster in 2026.
For the nine signed players with published contract details (Tomlinson, Josh Sweat, Baron Browning, Mykal Walker, L.J. Collier, Evan Brown, Akeem Davis-Gaither, safety Joey Blount and long snapper Aaron Brewer) plus the 1-year restricted free-agent tender for Greg Dortch, the total cap hit this year is $40.842 million.
We are still waiting on official figures for additions Jacoby Brissett, Jake Curhan and Simi Fehoko along with re-signed players Kelvin Beachum and Zay Jones.
