Salim Stoudamire at gym....

I was working out and playing basketball at the U of A gym today and saw Budinger, Damon Stoudamire, and Salim Stoudamire playing on the court next to me. I first saw Damon in the lifting area which is unusual because the athletes have their own facility, but then realized it was him when I went to the courts and saw his cousin Salim...

Anyways Salim has the best 3pt shot I have ever seen in my life. I know he shot over 50% his senior season, but I saw him make close to 25 threes in a row all swish. The guy has the best shot I have ever seen in my life.

A side note: Budinger was also shooting from NBA range and had a streak of about 10 in a row, not swishes, but he was hitting the majority of his shots.

That brings back memories. I used to play at the rec center every day, and I'd usually see guys like Miles Simon, Ben Davis, Mike Bibby, Jason Terry, Ray Owes and Joseph Blair playing all the time.

In fact, the final game I ever played at the rec center after I graduated was with Jason Terry (we were on the same team). He was actually pretty quiet, and we were all sort of weekend warriors, so he seemed bored most of the time.

I saw the clown that was Chris Rodgers in person at the rec. Everyone at the university new he was a jerk, and he had a rep of being a major jerk during pick up games (changing the score, calling bs fouls).

Well I was playing in a game where he charged his shoulder up into a kid and knocked his two front teeth out, one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. Of course afterwards he was doing everything he could to kiss up to the kid.

I saw alot of players back when I was there. Sean Elliott, Kerr, Brian Williams, Bibby, Miles Simon, Dickerson, Gardner, etc....

I used to go to the gym daily. Running with those guys is like racing carl lewus but you are in the sand and he is on the track.

Looking back at his posts are funny, but you are validating his "high school" point. You are looking to create drama.

This probably should have been discussed via PM, IMO.

In fact, the final game I ever played at the rec center after I graduated was with Jason Terry (we were on the same team). He was actually pretty quiet, and we were all sort of weekend warriors, so he seemed bored most of the time.

That is one thing i loved about the UA. They had the three courts. Far left was the elite court where the player played. Middle court was the high school players and gym rats. Third was the scrubs.

I mostly played on the second court but every so often i would play with the big boys.

My greatest basketball moment to date is stealing the ball and throwing an alley oop to Gilbert on the break. I will never forget the howling and cheering after he threw it down.

FYI - Ortege Jenkins was a lot better basketball player than anyone knows. He would just take it to guys and even some who were stars on the team...

yeah Ive played a few games with Rodgers, and you are right about the BS fouls and attitude problems on the court.
