Sam Acho and Tim Hightower cut

Both released just before their contracts for this year became fully guaranteed.. Acho was waived on the non football/illness list from the Bears (not sure the details there) and Hightower cut for a practice squad back (but we'll see what happens after week 1).

Acho was a solid, but not spectacular OLB. If Woodley underperforms in week 1 then I'd be open to having Acho back.

We have no use for Hightower at all.

Acho just doesnt have good enough athletic ability strong holds up at the point of attack but other then setting an edge I'd rather try rookies and younger guys with some upside. Hightower I was amazed he was still playing liked em both while here but don't see either in the league for much longer

Id play Shaq over him all day. Sam is a good dude but offers nothing really athleticly

FWIW, Acho has started 6 games and appeared in 12 for Chicago. I wonder if they just didn't want to guarantee his contract for some reason.

I think so, he was re-signed after the week and back into the lineup - I think they were preparing for roster overhaul and trying to get rid of an many guarantees as possible.
