And Acho is?

No, but Sam doesn't have 3-4 experience and is not good in coverage. Plus, I doubt Arians wants someone who's going to draw the kind of attention he'd draw on an active roster.

You want to upgrade when replacing a player.

It's not like we have much else to go to on the roster. For some reason I can't explain, we've neglected to address this position via high draft picks or significant free agents for years. Most other teams see pass rusher as a top priority, well worth the big contracts.

Campbell gets so much attention it's nuts. Regularly doubled. You almost can't see a replay where he's not being held too.

Saw him causing some havok but he gets every single double team now. Hopefully he can overcome it, I would prefer him having a big year vs showing proof of how valuable dockett is.

Everyone wants to keep mentioning him among the elite. Elite can shed double teams and still make plays. He isn't there.....

He put up a great season last year - arguably, one of the best in years... If he even comes close to his production from last year, it'll be hard not to see him as one of the top 5 defensive linemen in the game... maybe top 3.

Is he still rusty you think? May need some time out there to get back to where he was before he got injured last year? Hope so.

Okafor is a bigger and stronger version of Acho with a little more speed. He's a nice strong side LB but he doesn't have that elite speed or get off to be a big time pass rusher. He will make a solid starter though for us.

Acho had 7 sacks starting only 10 games as a rookie. What happened? Did teams just get enough film on him to slow him down???

Completely forgot he was on the team during Mondays game because his name never got called for anything. :) In his defense, he was part of the 4th qtr stand that helped seal the victory for us.

IMO, and it's only based on a feeling that I have, is that #53, Thomas Keiser, is our best pass rusher, and I expect to see him get more snaps this week. That said, it will be our schemes that lead to most of our sacks. Living in NY I see films/videos of a lot of Jets games in the Rex Ryan era, and the Jets pass defense has been effective, w/o having an elite pass rusher.

....Keiser was a great move by SK, great motor and "feel" for the game.....hope he plays a ton on Sunday, we may really have something there.....

Before his injury he was an up and coming player. Sam has not come back a 100% yet. I think reps will help him and build back the confidence he needs. We will see a lot of him this week. He will hold his own and get Meaning at least once!

Kaiser is the best edge rusher on the roster with only Martin and Okafor being potentially better, I just haven't seen enough of them to say. Sad state.
