When will this guy live up to the hype? Rams haven't scored an offensive touchdown since they played the horrible Redskin defense.

His numbers the last two games have been quite mediocre.

Thoughts?

Who's he throwing to? I know it's a tired refrain, but all of our Top 4 WR would probably be a #1 in their offense.

Check their talent at WR (Amendola, Gibson, Pettis) and also TE (Kendrick). And also OL (where their best lineman (LT Saffold) has been injured. Then check out their running threat (Jackson has had a nagging groin injury). And finally, consider how Fisher has dialed back the offensive playbook (to give his defense and ST's the chance to steal games.

Not exactly the perfect recipe for making Bradford look good.

(Nor Kolb - the two offenses tend to mirror each other except for our advantage at WR and a little bit at TE).

Your boy, Alex Smith, says who needs solid WR's...

Michael Crabtree would be a #1 in their offense, and there isn't a guy on the Rams' roster who is as good as Vernon Davis.

Vernon Davis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lance Kendricks.

You would think that a #1 overall pick could at least be average.

Ok, so I feel much better about tomorrow's game. Miami's receivers seem at least a bit better. MIA OL is better. Their RB's are better than STL's.

If Cards come to play, I like their chances.

They have Steve Smith too. He is a quality wr whom should be healthy from his knee injury now. Amendola isn't horrible either. Consistently blaming his WR's is getting old. He just sucks.

Numbers at Pro Football Focus

• Bradford ranks 16th among NFL quarterbacks in PFF’s accuracy rating, which takes into account the dropped passes, intentional throwaways to avoid sacks, spikes to stop the clock, and the receivers’ yards after the catch. Bradford’s accuracy rating of 72.8 percent puts him just behind Eli Manning (73.9) and Drew Brees (73.7.)

• Bradford’s accuracy rating of 53.8 percent on deep passes is the fourth best among quarterbacks.

• Bradford has an accuracy rating of 70 percent when he’s being pressured by the pass rush; that’s the ninth-best in the NFL. (Again: the rating gives us a more reliable accounting of a QB’s true accuracy because it doesn’t hold drops, throwaways, spikes and hit-while-throwing attempts against him.

:bigyawn: 16th best in accuracy? That doesn't sound very impressive.

I still think this guy is a star in the making. He started as a rookie so we have by no means seen the best of him. Remember Troy Aikman started his first year with a 1-11 performance.

In a van...down by the river.
-3rd offense in 3 years

-tape and glue offensive line for years...

-best WR is still just a smallish slot guy with good hands(Amendola)

-no QB coach last season

Those are real factors that have contributed to his struggles.

Having said that and having watched the games,Bradford is not showing the ability to read defenses very well IMO. He's locking on(sometimes pre-snap). The WR's aren't very good but he's clearly missing open guys.

He also hasn't progressed with his footwork in the pocket(buying time by feeling the rush and sliding away from it to get the pass out). He's more mobile than most give him credit for actually, when he gets caught in the pocket and looks like a statue its not because he doesn't have the ability to escape the rush, his awareness just seems to breakdown.

Slants, rollouts, digs, deep in's,out patterns....he looks like a franchise QB when he makes those throws. His deep ball fades however, look shaky at best. Not alot of touch or accuracy there.

I'd like to see Sam spend 2 years in this offense before i declare him a bust. He has been a disappointment though. Still, its not like he's throwing INT's all over the field and losing games single handedly.

I think Bradford is one of the most overrated players around. The Alex Smith analogy is a good one, only that Bradford has stronger arm. Both guys were 1st overall picks and are given the excuse of bad coaches, bad WR's, different sysems, blah blah blah.

I say if they were good QB's, they wouldn't have gone through different coaches and systems and would make their WR's look better. Peyton Manning has made guys like Austin Collie and Jacob Tamme significant. Other than a year or two of Randy Moss, what WR has Brady had? Before you say Welker, he's made Welker much more than Welker made Brady. Roethlisberger's best WR's, Buress and Holmes, have been allowed to walk and he just moves on to the next guy.

Factor in that Bradford has had the threat of a running game with Steven Jackson, his development should have been accelerated bceause teams are focussed on stopping him. If Bradford doesn't turn it on the 2nd half of this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see Fisher move on and use one their multiple 1st round picks on a QB.

Don't forget WR Chris Givens whom I thought & still believe will be a major talent in this league.

Attention Big Red...cover this dude because they will go deep to him at least once tonight & he can flat out scoot.

OK Mulli - Let's fish or cut bait: If you were offered Bradford for Kolb straight-up would you turn down the deal?

(Remember - this is the Internet, where all comments will remain "forever" in one form or another for all to see).

No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't trade for David Carr, either.

And I get to keep the player I drafted with the number 1 pick I saved by not drafting Bradford, right?

Kolb, in 679 attempts, 27 TD 24 int.
Bradford, in 1072 attempts, 28 TD 25 INT.

Nope - When you start getting involved in draft picks, the next step would be to compare compensation, DRC and the #2 we gave up. It gets too confusing. Let's keep it simple:

Bradford for Kolb straight up
.

If Alex Smith had been a better QB, his first OC wouldn't have been named Green Bay Head Coach? And his second OC wouldn't have been named head coach in San Diego?

If Sam Bradford were a better QB, his first OC wouldn't have been named the head coach of the Cleveland Browns?

That makes no sense.
