Great article!

Shows what a pompous arse some people can be.

LOL - Its the fans fault now ?

You wanna pimp a 5-11 team, go ahead. Just because people won't blindly follow is no reason to go insulting others.

I cannot think of a more pathetic thing to write about.

Not cheap but pocketed 32 million in 2010, while pushing Derek Anderson out on the field.

But you know what ?

The author is 100% right.

This isn't the "Same Ol' Cardinals".

This is a new Cardinal era ! Things are completely different!

The Cardinals have found a whole new way to drive a sports organization into the ground.

The organization sheds the label when it can consistently compete. It has nothing to do with what they spend. As for desire? Show me. Don't tell me. SHOW ME!

Seriously, what in the hell has this organization done while in AZ that gives them any reason not to be called such a thing. They have had how many winnings seasons ?

This "Same Ol' Caridnal fan" wishes he could get rid of the "new age Cardinal fan" You know, the ridiculously, optomistic fan that touts everything as a success, and is the apologist for every piss poor piece of sports work done by the franchise. Who can't write 5 lines of text talking about football, but can spend all day telling other Cardinal fans how they are not the fan they themselves are.

Yeah, really great new fans that insult each other, and have no continuity or loyalty to anyone but their own minds.

Good stuff. Have fun with that.

Best thing, you can't get rid of me, and all I have to do is wait around until the ridiculously optomistic new fan can't lie to himself anyone, curses every other Cardinal fan out, and leaves for "better teams".

That article is a pretentious flippin' joke.

Is there even one single fact in that article that the author can hang his hat on ?

You know what is even better? I read an article not to long ago that called out the fans for being jerks for wanting Whiz gone. Now I read another about how you are a bad fan if you wanted him to stay.

Screw that. Fans going around, and popping their jersey about "How great a fan I am in comparison to this fan of the same team." That is pathetic. That is REALLY, REALLY pathetic.

Oooo..... you are the best football fan in the world.

How about this hack writes about football, and not about how he rules and everyone else sucks. Or is that impossible these days ? Can't have a different opinion, and if you do, if you DARE defend it, then be prepare to be personally attacked because you dare think different.

This guy is selling hot ---- in a champagne glass, while we are getting cold diarrhea in a dixie cup.

Screw Adam Green. There is a reason he is a hack on a do nothing website.

ANYONE that has stuck with this team for 10+ years is a HECK of a fan, to deal with the crapola that has been put in front of us. Just because one of the guys who Bidwill practically signs his checks, was writing an article while under Bidwill's desk doesn't mean to much.

Lol looks like someone struck a nerve.

When fans call out other fans of the same team. It is pathetic.

When fans/analyst call out other fans of the same team just because they don't see things 100% they way they do ? It makes them a grade-A ******.

Sorry, I don't have patience for this kind of crapola.

What in the heck does this have to do with football ? It doesn't. It is a backhanded personal insult to people whom believe the Cardinals haven't really changed all that much. Have they changed ? Sure. A lot ? From a fan that has watched them a long time.....not really.

Has the Bidwills really proved they are about winning ? Not really. Not really at all. All the moves they have made can easily be looked at as doing what is needed to ensure tickets are sold, and without a care about wins.

If I am wrong then explain the 2010 season. How as that season about winning ?

The fact you are saying you want to get rid of your fellow fans ? Well, that speaks for itself. Maybe some of the "Good fans" can right a book for us "Bad fans" to follow.

Times like this I think about how much cheaper, and less invested it would be to root for a local team. Cause for being such a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE FAN. I sure spend a lot of time, money, and effort/emotion on them.

This thread would be much better if we could get Rugby to tell us how he feels about the article. ;)

Rugby should really open up and let us know his thoughts. All this beating around the bush and wallflower stuff is killing me. :D

Jesus Rugby. It's only football. Don't give yourself a stroke or you're gonna end up talking like Thesmel

That actually made me laugh out loud and very few things do that while reading a message board

38 years I've been a fan and I can nearly count on 1 hand how many winning season this organization has had. If actually wanting this team to be, well, good makes me a bad fan then I'm a bad fan.

Well, the term you want is write. That said, you're pretty much 100% on the mark but the book would be short and I can write it for them: In order to be construed as a 'true fan', you must cheer no matter what and accept whatever tripe the ownership puts out on the field. After all, it's their money."

Same Old Cardinal fans would desert the team in droves. Whole sections of the stadium would be vacant on game days and news and info about the Cardinals in the media would be hard to find.

In short, the Cardinals would be a non-story other than being targets of "The Cardinals are so bad..." rimshot jokes. They'd be ignored.

Like unhappy fans in places like NYC and Philly, today's Cardinal fans are angry, frustrated and sarcastic. But they still show up to boo on Game Day and vent their anger online while searching every news source for news, rumor and gossip about who the new coach will be.

The way I see it, The Same New Cardinal Fans may express varying degrees of outrage, but we won't desert our team.

Ever.

Rugby is 100% right in my opinion. Change the uniform, change the bird, drop cash cash one year, and pinch pennies the next. Looking at the entire body of work, it's the same ole song and dance

There are posters on ASFN who have been angry and frustrated for decades and have never deserted the team. So that's not really new.

I'm still the same fan after this last year's 5-11 as I was in 1979,1980,1985,1989,1990,1991,1992,1995,1997,2002,2003,2005,2006 and 2010 when they were either 5-11 or 4-12.

I don't know what kind of fans you'd call us except maybe insane. :D

Side note: In keeping with being the weirdest NFL team ever: as bad as the Cardinals have been they've failed to win at least 4 games in a season only once since 1959.

Whenever I think of the Cards Duck, I think of mediocrity. We are not great. We are seldom horrible...we are, well, the Cardinals. Salieri in Amadeus, sums up being a longtime Cardinal fan:)
