Not at all. Daryl is part of the solution, not part of the problem. I think that it'll mostly be the OLB play and probably poor fits at DE playing two-gap when they're not good at it (especially Dockett). I see no reason why teams aren't going to be able to convert 3rd-and-3 at will, or really 3rd and 6. Our defense this season might primarily be based on hoping that the WR drops the ball (again).

I wish that Whis wasn't so married to the 3-4. I think that we would be better (and more cost-effective) converting to a Tampa-2.

At times Calais has looked very good two gapping this preseason. I think overall our D Line depth is looking very good, with a second platoon of Holliday, Eason, and Carter. Much improved IMO. Hopefully the keep Iwebema, the guy is a demon on special teams.

I think this defense needs a true 2 gapper to replace Dockett (one of my favorite all time players, but a poor fit), a developmental SS with real talent, and at least one OLB that can play. I like what we have at corner, but we might need another starting caliber corner if Jefferson doesn't keep up his play and if Peterson isn't the stud we think he is.

Note to self: We will not be facing Philip Rivers every Sunday... ;)

while you're right, we almost made Jimmy Clausen look like him to an extent last year. :D

The Cards D has been known to fail against some of the leagues worst & in todays NFL if your edge guys have problems getting to the QB, most QB's will have big days. So you see where my worry is...and not getting there with the blitz is a double edge sword.

I'd probably be a lot easier on him if he didn't wear #58 and remind me of the guy who was superior to him in pretty much every way when I look at him on the field.
If someone said this about a player you liked you'd be all over them for blatant subjective analysis of that player.

Judge him on his merits, not against a guy who isn't on the team.

Not really. The guy plays the same position and was drafted to replace him. Kind of like Levi Brown wearing #75. If Levi wore #71 I don't think anyone would be demanding he be moved to LG.

Brown sucks of his own accord. It doesn't have a thing to do with his jersey number.

Ok I'm picturing it...

and no I dont agree!!! His # means zero in my book. Levi is what he is...average, lazy at times, lacks nastiness & falls asleep it seems, at least one play a game. He's just not that good & hopefully 1 of his mishaps this season doesnt land our new multi million $$$ QB on IR. It's going to happen & I pray Kolb gets up.

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
One thing I hate is when people say Mccown is gonna be the next farve, Washington is gonna be the next dansby, Navarve is gonna be the next tom brady....ugh! Just let them be who they are. Washington is gonna be WASHINGTON... saying they have simular styles or speed I understand but when people start shaking the magic 8 ball and saying we are gonna win this game, lose this game, etc is just silly imo. Time will tell. Btw has anyone EVER been right on here saying xxxxx is gonna be the next xxxxxxxxx?

I think people say he should play LG because he sucks at T and won't get beat like a drum at LG.

And what is this based on? Because he's never in his career played LG. Probably not even going back to high school.

Because it's harder to get beat like that on the inside than it is on the outside.

He's going against the top rusher on most teams, and he can't do it. So he either plays G or is totally out. The wishing him to play G is simply people hoping he could do something and isn't a total waste.

We need to find bookends and quit this game with Levi.

But he gets blown up by crappy pass rushers, too. Did Alan Faneca not get blown up in the passing game on the inside? Did Reggie Wells?

I'm not saying I want him at LG. I'm just saying why people would. Has nothing to do with Big, or his number. Is has to do with him sucking out loud and panicked hope that he wouldn't suck so much inside...so he's not a complete waste of $, space and years.
