All of us should have a few words, thoughts and prayers for all those who have served this great country, including their families. God bless to all and to those who have given their lives for our freedom including our own Card, Pat Tillman.

I'd like to especially remember my Dad who, 65 years ago, jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.

God Bless all the Veterans of All our wars. God bless their families, especially those whose vets did not come home, or came home in great disrepair. God bless all those who endured the fear, the cold, the heat, the wet, the very dry, the sadness and lonliness, and the sorrow of having shared the last moments of a buddy's life. God bless our great country and may he find others who are willing to put their lives on the line for our well being. Amen

Today is a sad day for all servicemen/women. Today is a day that we focus on our lost comrades, in some cases our best friends who have died in our arms.

Thanks for your support everyone. I'm glad to see that some people remember more about Memorial Day than hot dogs, beer, and pool parties.

God Bless Our Heros

I rarely talk about my time in the U.S.Navy. I did two Vietnam tours on the Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) from 1965 through 1967. Several of my friends are still somewhere in North Vietnam. Air Squadron VA-85 had the most fatalities. On my first tour they lost 20 out of their original 24 flyers. While on the line, these guys did a minimum of two sorties a day over Hanoi/Haiphong. Most prayed each morning at church service with the Chaplin - aka Padre. This is the day to deeply reflect and pray for those who did not make it back! I think about them often.

I always think about my fellow vets, especially those that never made it home. Today, of all days, it really comes crashing home. Kudos to the fallen for serving this fine nation.

Thanks to all the Vets out there. I want to especially remember my Dad, who I just lost this past December. He was a three war veteran (WWII, Korea, Viet Nam) and was the most patriotic man I knew. Thanks to all that have given their lives, their service, and their love to our country.

May God Bless America

I would like to give thanks to my Dad who was in the Navy & took a bullet from a Japanese Zero.

In fact, thanks to all service personnel

Thanks folks! Am currently aboard the good ship O'Kane out in Pearl, missing the kids something fierce.

A note to Chain... My father-in-law was next door on the Enterprise flying F-4s in VF-41. He and some good men from VF-84 were shot down 17 Oct 65. Stayed at the Hilton over there until 13 Feb 73. Something like 2700 days. He's still around and doing great. Was out at my place for the James Bond Stockdale commissioning in early May. Those dudes are the epitome of "heroes."
