Thinking about this more, I think we've been had. Mitch yanked our chains on purpose.

You did, didn't you, Mitch? Good one. Well calculated.

Bring on the season! 37 days left?

I think Mitch is on to something here.

No team can afford to devote that much of their cap paying for two #1's.

A Steelers-like team doesn't need two #1 WR's.

Q is in his prime now, but injuries are starting to be part of the package in how he plays. Let's get past the Superman thing, OK? Superman never had "contract issues".

Age is a factor with Edge, maybe we get another good year...maybe not. Hightower is a hope. JJ is a disappointment. Shipp...is gone, IMO.

Dockett stock is high; and with the judgement warning signs we are seeing now...maybe it is time to sell and get a really, really, good price.

I wonder if the negtiations with Dansby, AW, and Green would go any better?

except the Cowboys apparently, who after signing TO to a new deal, are going to trade for Boldin and give him a new deal as well.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner...there is more.

My source told me that the interest in Crayton was generated by Todd Haley who coached Crayton in Dallas...and it was Haley who really liked this kid and started grooming him when they (Dallas) selected him in the 7th round of the 2004 draft out of Northwestern Oklahoma.

Also...he said that Terry Glenn is toast and will be gone...and because the one thing the Cowboys didn't do this off-season was add the good WR they wanted to, that Jerry Jones believes they are one premier WR away from a Super Bowl berth.

Norwood is so injury prone. Id rather have JJ. That deal is such crap for us. Dockett is worth way more than that.

Boldin deal is crap too. He will not be traded this year. If we were shopping him we would be getting offers from almost every team in the league and be able to get something better than that.

Damn mitch you used to be the voice of reason and input here. Your posts this offseason have been laughable.

First off, I am a big "Q" fan. But I just don't understand his thinking. The Cards have always negotiated in good faith with him. They said they wanted to work out a deal, I think he has no reason not to believe them.

Now with all that said, the deal with Dallas is interesting, but not enough IMHO. You would have to think that at best their 2nd round pick would be somewhere in the high 50's at best and maybe in the 60's. If they were talking about PC and their first round pick, well I would have to really consider that.

This is completely silly. Neither of these trades make any sense. Boldin for Crayton?! You have got to be kidding me. Why would the Cards trade for a guy the Cowboys don't even think can help get them over the hump, and give them a bonafide WR in Boldin? I could care less if picks were involved or not, because they're going to be late in the rounds anyway.

In terms of Dockett for Norwood, who the hell is going to take Dockett's spot?!

Both of these trades would mean a step back in terms of both production and wins for the Cards this year.

Oh, and Mitch, I find it funny that you are the only one reporting this. Trades of this magnitude never stay this quiet. I think you should get a job at PFT.com for reporting this.

I think I figured out what is going on. Mitch is out of town for the week and left himself logged in. This is his house sitter posting!

It has to be. It just has to.

I'm all for trading Boldin at this stage in his career, but NOT to the Cowboys, absolutely no F'n way! I don't care if they offered a deal that was blatantly lobsided in our favor. Boldin would put Dallas in the SB & I just can't live with that scenario. Even if it meant the Cardinals making the playoffs the next 5 yrs. Dockett is a malcontent, so I don't care one way or the other as long as you get fair value.

Two things.

1st, You guys need to leave Mitch alone. I have never once read a post of his where he insulted anyone on this board. Nor has he ever given anyone a reason to doubt his credibilty as far as I recall. For you guys to jump all over him is weak. You dont get any cool points for harrassing the guy who puts a lot of time into blogs and whatnot that give me something to read in the offseason. Not cool.

2ndly, why is anyone surprised by any of this? I told you all this would happen when we gave Fitz his new contract and you called me a hysterical panicky idiot. What is it going to take for the rest of you to quit refuting my logic?

Mitch, I'd have preferred a repeat of your "Fitz Rant" performance. But, I guess you are trying to keep it fresh.

Well, people are jumping all over Mitch for two very simple and good reasons. The first is that he has never hinted that he has sources, or that he does anything more than speculate--and speculate wildly. The second point, closely tied to the first, is that his supposed knowledge that he claims is so genuine is troubling. Thus, pretending to present wild personal speculation that would be damaging to the team as insider knowledge has set off a few posters. I perfectly understand the reaction, though I'm not going to go off on Mitch. I'm just going to say I'm really disappointed in him that he would try to pull a stunt like this. If it were a joke, it might have been funny to point it out after the initial reaction. At this point, I don't know what he's trying to incite.

Now, if someone like Joe or Nidan or Skkorp claimed to have some insider knowledge, then that would be something altogether different.

Booooooo, this is BS. Just like Fitzy was to be traded to the Eagles. I'll believe it when I read it on ESPN, wait no FoxSports, wait no, I'll believe it when I read it on Urban's Blog, then I'll believe it.

Until then, it's all a bigger pile of guano than found under a Filibertos bathroom.

Agreed...while Mitch is certainly not right all the time, he is extremely passionate about the team as are many of us. From my memory, he is always respectful of everyone on the board and is an overwhelmingly positive presence. It certainly wouldn't hurt people to get off his back.

But when he mentions a trade with the cowpies, I must object. I must object to the highest degree. I know Mitch is pro Cards, but how dare he post drivel, and speculation like this, without sources.

Again, I must point out how we were supposed to trade Fitzy because we just couldn't work out a deal with him. Look how that turned out.

I really think everybody needs to chill because I really think this is someone else playing a joke with Mitch's login. I've had it happen to me before.

Mitch typically responds to arguments and counterpoints. He hasn't done so in this thread. The "Mitch" poster has just elaborated on these claims and taken them to the next level. There's probably a friend of his or somebody else with his login ID laughing his a** off right now at all the ado about nothing going on.

Nah, this is Mitch himself. He's not responding to arguments because there's nothing to argue. It's a complete invention. He may, or may not, explain himself later. I'd put money on "not", because he tends to disappear after his nuttier threads until they are forgotten.

:thumbsup...

I hope you are wrong Mitch...If we ever trade Boldin it better be for a lot better than Patrick feaking Crayton... For the Cards to slap the fans in the face by trading him to the Pukes would be cause for me to seriously consider dumping this team, I hate the pukes that much.

If he gets traded it better be to the freaking AFC...If they do trade him is should be to the steelers for Hines Ward and a 1st or 2nd rounder...

As for Dockett, we better get more than that as well...
