I am elated! It would mean so much to me and I think of all of us to see Larry Fitzgerald hoist the Lombardi if we ever get that chance. Plus, love the symmetry and vibes of $11M per year. For Fitz's leadership and unselfishness and superior will to work his hardest to win, he deserves every penny of it, imho.

The definition of 'win-win' IMO.

You are completely right Mitch....Fitz wants to win a title here. He understands what winning a title in AZ would do to his name. The one thing that stuck with me more than anything was, "I would love to hold every receiving record in football no doubt, but holding that Lombardi would make up for it".

Both he and Dockett (although I don't know him firsthand, only through Fitz) will finish their careers as Cardinals...that's what they both want.

People are really comparing the Fitzgerald situation to Dragics? Come on now your smarter than that it's not black and white.

Good for Fitzgerald I'm very happy for him and the fans

Yeah, BirdMan---let's get Dock settled in on the same goal. Loyalty goes a long way, doesn't it?

I don't know Dockett personally....only have talked to him through 11, but his head seems to be in the same place. (Although clearly in a COMPLETELY different way). They both want to win....and both realize how winning here in AZ, where you "can't" win, would elevate all of their names beyond where they are now. And the entire team loves Arians, I have yet to hear a single bad word about him.

My favorite comment I have heard about Arians was, "He's the only dude that can tell you to man the F*** up and stop making mistakes, and tell you how much he loves you 5 seconds later, and you know he meant both". The players just love his mindset

That's the only thing I hate about the cap...all those loopholes.

I do love however that we finally have a GM that is smart enough to use them....its a player and team option to terminate...and if both agree to let it stand it terminates. So there is no way he gets the third year, unless he extends after next year.

That word has rarely been associated with the Big Red & players in my 40yrs of fandom, especially in AZ. Today is a good day:D

That's what's so great....we finally have a coach and management team that players feel they can trust. They also know that they will be around a while, so they can agree to stay because they aren't worried about turnover just because we can't win.

Michael/Steve/Bruce are a perfect trio for this team. They have a nice age range, know how to reach players and agents from different angles, and until proven otherwise...aren't going anywhere for a while. So players feel SAFER when they are promised things.

Until now, I think it was tough to be loyal because you never knew who was going to be running things from year to year.

Interesting stat:

@ESPNStatsInfo: Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals agree on 2-year deal

With Carson Palmer as QB in 2014, Fitzgerald had 81 rec ypg
Other QBs in 2014: 38 rec ypg

He can still be productive.

Shocker what a pretty darn good QB can do for an offense huh? ;)

Fitz ain't done as a highly productive player imo like many others here believe he is.

Trust me, the guy is not done. He still feels he can play at a 100/1000/10 level for a few more years. He works out like he is rehabbing to get back from a surgery....if we can keep Palmer upright, everyone will forget about his 2014 numbers. Especially with a slight change to his role next year.

Couldn't agree more Mitch! These days, you just don't see pro athletes making these types of decisions. Seriously, aside from Brady (who, if understand things really didn't take a pay cut), what other star NFL player, or any other star pro athlete, has done what Fitz just did??

I don't know Dockett personally....only have talked to him through 11, but his head seems to be in the same place. (Although clearly in a COMPLETELY different way). I think the odds have FINALLY fallen our way, in that we FINALLY have the exact perfect mix of smarts, talent and relational skills locked up in ownership, GM, coach, coaches and players... Had to happen sooner or later, right?? :D

Last season, Fitz had his longest catch from scrimmage of his career - it was a short, 8 yard pass followed by a 72 yard sprint to the goal line where he out-ran everyone... He is most definitely NOT done!! ;)

Man honestly this front office has me so happy. How times have changed star players taking less money to stay in town.
