Lastly, in terms of his $22 million guarantee, do you not believe he could've gotten more money elsewhere? I have no doubt that some other team(s) would've stepped up and given Fitz something like a 3/4 year deal with $30 million guaranteed.

I was about to say "no way", then I thought about it a little more, and came to the conclusion that you're probably right - but - no SANE front office was going to offer that. If he'd been after nothing but the biggest possible payday, he'd have had to be willing to play for some nimrod like Khan at Jacksonville, Daniel Snyder, or that idiot in Cleveland. NFW that a team like the Patriots or Packers would have laid out that kind of coin. He did quite well with his Cards deal - not only didn't have to grant a hometown discount, but I'd argue he got a hometown bump upwards. Well done, a true win/win/win (we fans are the #3 win).

no good team would have gave him 22 mil... a team like jacksonville yes but he would have never gone to a team like that... he wants to win and get paid.. hence take more than enough from us ... and only a 2 year deal so he can chase a ring if it doesn't work out.

Sorry, I never believed a word you said and don't think you have any inside sources. I think you made a bold prediction and fabricated a source to get some attention. It backfired, and now you look like an ass. Eat your crow and move on.

Stupid? Hmm. Let's go back:

Without an alleged source, I was able to not only predict correctly that he'd be back, but I was far closer than you on the annual salary.

Yeah. Pretty dumb on my part :lame:

Sure you will, RIIGGHTT. If you can say it a month from now, you can say it today. Fitz signed a deal, you have an internet name only here. You have ZERO reason to play this phony "inside source, have to protect my source" crap.

not like you even know who i am... i get nothing out of making up a story

Exactly. So why wait?

Wow...Fitz keeps winning in contract neogtiations with the Cardinals. $22 mil guaranteed for two years is a huge win for a guy his age who was never going to see the end of that deal. A guy who has made every deal he signs leverage him into huge amounts of guaranteed money over a long career. Both sides got what they wanted today, and we will revisit this in two years where I'm sure Fitz will put the Cards over the barrell again.

All of this is true. no team would have guaranteed Fitz $22M. Fitz would've been lucky to find the $16M payout he was due on the open market.

Let's not fool ourselves--there's no football reason that Larry Fitzgerald is worth $11M over each of the next two years. He's still grossly overpaid for his production. The upside for the Cards that right now they have a player on the roster for a $10M cap hold instead of an empty locker.

Eugene Parker should negotiate peace in the Middle East next. Fitz may have earned more than every other not QB in NFLS history over his career. Maybe only Julius Peppers has earned as much.

Glad Fitz is staying here.

Again, no one knows who the hell you are in real life, so you cannot hurt that person.

But, you are getting a little bit of attention, so good for you I guess.

No it wont. No one believes you anyway, so you might as well just spill it.

And no, no one thinks you're famous. We just wanted you to come back and eat your crow. You came back, but your crow is getting cold on the dinner table.

Sure...football reason. But CAP HIT reason, for this year alone 11M each two vs 23 in this one (or 16M in dead money and no production), it's a no brainer. Cards got a freaking STEAL given what they had dedicated to him dead or alive, and get him cap spread for two years for the cap price of one, with the production.

Steal of the century, IMO. A hell of a good deal on Keim's part, and good to not lowball Larry because he knows the deal too. Larry gets a pretty sweet payday with the guarantee 22M, vs less in the current deal and potentially same in a 3 year deal elsewhere.

Just great work by the team, and great desire by the player. Really happy with the way this one went down. I had little doubt he'd leave but didn't expect to really help the cap so much.

Go away. You lost. Trolled yourself and now it is time to tuck tail, suck your binky and slip off into the sunset only to get another handle next season. No more BS from your IP, k bro?

11mill guaranteed for a guy who cant even hit 800 yards nooooooooooooo

**** dude, really? He was 16M if we cut him nooooooooooooooooo. So instead we get his 800 yards (more with carson) and 13M in cap relief.

Oh, go back to Madden already.

Cards are still $2.2 mil over the projected cap according to espn. 9-0 has to take a dramatic cut or he will probably be cut. I think he's on the books for 11mil. Some reason I thought we were about 5mil in the green, maybe they're wrong.

Lots of work still left to do for Keim & co.

Is not just about dockett
Powers 5,8
Sendlein 3,2
Stanton 3,9
Ginn 4 but i see him being cut 100%
I can see dockett splitting his last year contract in 2 years
Sendlein cut ginn cut and they maybe redo powers contract extending him
They can have before free agency starts around 14 mil of cap room, not enough as well

Why does anyone bother with the slight thought that we will cut Sendlein? It ain't happening. Maybe draft an heir that can also play Guard, but he's not being cut.

I thought Fitz would stay but I found it interesting that Schefter reported that Fitz wouldn't sign until he had a heart to heart with Arians about his role on the team moving forward. He didn't provide any details on the meeting but I'd sure like to know what was said/promised.

I can't see Arians making any type of promises to any player. I guess it doesn't matter since he's signed but I'd still like to know.

Chopper and K9 are correct. Fitz would never had seen $22M over two years from any other team in the league. To me it was making the best of a bad situation. Fitz can still be productive and he gets a load of guaranteed money and the Cardinals get huge cap relief and not have dead money on the cap if Fitz was cut.
