Excellent acquisition! Can anyone honestly tell me that even an aging John Abraham isn't an upgrade over O'Brien Schofield?

I love the way the NEW Cardinals front office and head coach are going all out to be competitive in the NFC West. This ain't your father's Cardinals IMO.

Wow. I've never seen the FO this aggressive. Big, big kudos. Don't know I these moves will work, but love seeing us try to get better everywhere.

Seemed like pass rush and O-line were our two major deficiencies last week, now it looks like we have legit options at both.

Love both signings, not for just who they are, but what they represent.

Personally I think Abraham is done and Arizona will be lucky to get 4 or 5 sacks out of him but I do love how out front office is going about everything.

We're just going to have to rebuild again next year when all these 1-year deals expire and these vets go find new long-term homes.

Plus, no one else wanted Abraham or Winston. So why are we excited to have someone else's trash?

Between Arians, Palmer, Abraham, Winston, Mendenhall, and all the others, we are a team built to win now. The only problem is that we are the 4th best team in the toughest division in football. We need to be building for the future so that when the Niners and Hawks start to decline in 7-10 years, we will be poised to make another quick run at the Super Bowl.

Also the Bidwells are cheap.

And I am mad that training camp isn't in Flagstaff, even though I never made the drive up there even once.

If you are reading this and nodding, you are a Darksider. Your time to shine is just 3-4 months away.

He has had double digit sacks his last two or three years! If he has 7-10 this year we will have a great signing.

I was against the signing initially due to all the reports I've heard/read saying he's washed up. But the problem we had with Porter was Whis not letting go soon enough, the initial signing wasn't bad necessarily--he just held on too long. I don't think that'll happen with BA.

Steve Keim has made a huge difference to this organization. It's really rare to see such an impact so soon. With all these 1 and 2 year deals, I can't help but remember Keim saying he was telling prospects if they left the building the Cards would consider the offer void. That's playing hardball, and it's nice to see (from my perspective), because assuming he does this with everyone, it takes away any leverage moves by the player. It also gives more dignity to the organization in my opinion by showing players we're worth playing for but we won't wait around, we'll just find another player who wants to be a Cardinal.

Been one of the most impressive offseasons in my mind by the Cardinals. May not translate into wins right away because of our division, but it will pay huge dividends down the road.

even if he just gets 6 sacks this year and can put pressure on the QB with any kind of regularity, this is a very good depth signing.

and he's a winner. the team needs more of those guys, so at this point, the more the merrier.

We also originally signed Porter for 3 yrs 24.5 million. This is a completely different signing.

I also agree that if he's washed up (or becomes washed up during his contract), which I don't think he is (though possible in year two), Arians/Keim would bench and/or sign someone else. So far they've shown they have the ability to be cold blooded and make moves when they felt it was necessary or there was someone better behind door number whatever.

Not sure where these signings will take us but it sure is nice to see this effort by the front office. We may not have a good record this year but I won't complain about the effort to field a decent team. Well I actually will but it won't be justified.

Abraham had 10'sacks and 7 forced fumbles last season. He also played in the NFC South, the Cardinals play this season. Abraham will be able give tendencies on players in that division or how you should play certain lineman. Especially againist the Falcons.

Bet he already has the Falcons game circled in red.

Agree. Someone who can put constant pressure on the QB by himself will boost the D immensely. And if they double team him the others have a better chance to get to the QB.

Half of Abraham's sacks last year: 3 vs Raiders, 2 vs Cardinals. None of the ten came against teams with winning records. Only one sack since November 18, that was vs NO on nov 29.

No stats in two playoff games started vs SEA and SF. Injured his ankle in first half of SEA game.

The above stats notwithstanding, not a terrible signing.

Meh.

I'd rather they signed Winston to the two year and Abraham to the one year.

I just think Abraham is done.

That said, I am in full on "trust BASK" mode, so I'll defer to them.

Me too.

Falcons probably read the writing. They are SB contenders and if they figure he had another good year in him, maybe they sign him.

Hopefully he has that good year here.

Old situational rushers are great to catch young QB's who can scramble like Kapernick and R Wilson.

Not.

The falcons just gave Matt Ryan a huge contract. That's why Abraham and Boldin an#d who ever else are gone.

I think you are confusing Flacco and Ryan

If not for the Ryan extension, I think the Falcons would have signed Dwight Howard.
