Someone on azcardinals.com is reporting that Calvisi reported that single bar is gone. Any else heard this?

If he was released:

An idea for the new holder is matt lienart...He is a lefty, rackers is a righty, that means the hand he catches and supports the ball with at the beginning of the snap is his good hand, it would make for more realistic fake kicks with a good QB to pull it off.

thank God - I know this is a really stupid reason to want someone off the team, but the dude just looked like a complete and utter joke out there with the single-bar, no chin PLUS the handle-bars he added this year. We're embarassing enough on accident - no need to purposefully look embarassing as well.

New holder:

Boldin

excellent hands, and gives a running and passing threat off a fake

That new dude must've looked really good in practice. I'd have liked to see him kick in at least one preseason game before handing him the job. Oh well, whatever.

I just hope it doesn't mess with Rackers. He's been having a great preseason.

Completely disgaree. The one bar looked fine. And he was absolutely one of the nicest guys on the team. He was cool to my kids. I'm sure he'll hook up with someone else. In all these recent years of pain, he was one of the bright spots on our team. Let's remember the guy for that.

Barr is a guy the coaching staff already wanted from their days in Pitt. He just got released from them, and his preseason punting net has been better than Player's gross.

I, for one, am happy. This is an improvement in our special teams.

We've traded one bar for Mike Barr.

Yeah, I did not have any problem how he looked. His punting was just not the same last couple of years. Good luck to him.

I agree, he is a really nice and cool guy and great with the fans. However, from a performance aspect he had lost it. His punts don't hang in the air any longer, and he hasn't looked good.

My thoughts exactly. Good luck Scott and I hope this improves the Cards.

I was going to post good riddance, but I won't. End of an era. Not as good as Rich Camarillo, but still pretty good for a while. While I hope does well somewhere else, his leaving make me glad because the Cards "cool looking" rating is improved by losing the funi bar.

I liked the single-bar and the mustache, but not the performance the last couple of years.

But man, he was one of the best when he was in his prime.

Here's to you, over-the-hill, single-bar mustachioed punter with a generic-sounding jersey.

I'm sure the players and coaching staff got tired of Player (since he's the last member of the 1998 team) going around telling everyone how they did it back in the day.

PROST!

Journey well, may you meet the Cardinals forebears feasting in Valhalla.
