The Seattle Seahawks haven't been aggressive enough to upgrade their lackluster offensive line this offseason. General manager John Schneider was unwilling to sign Will Fries without hosting him in Seattle on a visit, a rare occurrence for a top-end free agent, even one who suffered a season-ending injury. Fries ended up signing a lucrative deal with the Minnesota Vikings instead (without taking a visit).
Since then, the Seahawks have hosted three free-agent interior offensive linemen on visits. That list is made up of Teven Jenkins, Lucas Patrick, and Dillon Radunz. Since visiting Seattle, Jenkins has signed with the Cleveland Browns, and Patrick has signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. Radunz is the lone target left, and Schneider can't afford to let him sign elsewhere as well.
Radunz would be a terrific fit in Seattle's offense. The former 2021 second-round pick played for the Tennessee Titans for the previous four campaigns. He became a first-year starter at right guard this past season, and though he wasn't perfect, he was significantly better than Laken Tomlinson or Anthony Bradford were for the Seahawks in 2024. He's also visited the New Orleans Saints, meaning the Seahawks may be facing competition for his signature.
The Seahawks have been overly patient when attempting to address the offensive line via free agency. It's cost them multiple opportunities to upgrade one of the worst offensive fronts in the league. New starting quarterback Sam Darnold deserves better. After watching targets like Fries, Jenkins, and Patrick sign elsewhere, the Seahawks should be aggressive with Radunz.
