The Seattle Seahawks recently hosted a plethora of free-agent interior offensive linemen on visits. The team welcomed Teven Jenkins, Dillon Radunz, and Lucas Patrick to their facilities. Despite that, the Seahawks didn't end up signing any of those players. All three have already chosen to play the 2025 season elsewhere.
That isn't preventing general manager John Schneider from hosting alternative options. While making a recent appearance on Seattle Sports, Schneider confirmed that Cole Van Lanen recently made the trip to The Emerald City for a visit. Van Lanen is a restricted free agent and was given an original round tender by the Jacksonville Jaguars in March of $3.26 million, according to Bob Condotta.
Van Lanen was a sixth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers during the 2021 NFL draft. Jacksonville reserves the right to match any offer Van Lanen receives from Seattle. If they opt against matching a proposal, they'd receive a sixth-round pick (original round tender) as compensation.
Van Lanen has appeared in 35 career NFL games as a reserve lineman. The former Wisconsin Badger has made just three career starts, all of which occurred in Jacksonville last season. Van Lanen earned 187 snaps at left tackle last season and 60 at right tackle. He has played 12 career snaps at guard.
Schneider is turning over leaf in search for offensive line help.
