Barring an injury to Matt Flynn or Russell Wilson this week, the Seahawks will likely begin shopping Tarvaris Jackson, according to CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora.

With training camps already winding down, it's hard to imagine another team shoe-horning Jackson into a starting gig. Arizona appears to be the one team in the market for a veteran stopgap, and reliable beat writer Kent Somers is shooting down the notion that they might be interested in Jackson. Due $4 million this season, Jackson is more likely to be released than traded.

He is marginally better than our current crap. But I dont care about adding a guy who does not raise our ceiling as a team.

Maybe we can trade our #1 young CB and a first round pick, plus sign him to a new more lucrative deal?

And it doesn't seem like anyone is competing with the Cardinals for him... perfect.

I don't consider Skelton and Lindley as crap.

I will say this with a lot of confidence. Skelton has hardly proven to be the starting QB of the future but he is no worse than Terrible Jackson, John knows our playbook and has room for growth at the position. No way would I trade for Tarvaris Jackson, I would rather have Vince 'crazy legs, crazy head' Young :)

I respectfully disagree.

No, we won't win the Super Bowl with Jackson, but we sure as hell won't with Skelton either. In fact, I'd argue that we'll be worse off this season than last. At beast, we match last year's record.

Change for the sake of change is not a reason to acquire this guy. This year we roll with KK, JS and Lindley and reload in the offseason if we still have QB issues.

Now if David Garrard was available for no draft compensation I'd strongly consider him.

If we're looking at SEA castoffs, I'd rather have Hasselbeck. Maybe he'll throw a hissy when he loses out to Locker and forces he way out of town?

Nah, I'm dreaming.

I've read reports that he might get released too.

Someone please tell me how Skelton is better than Jackson, please. I'm not trying to pick a fight here, so I want someone's real answer.

How can you know that? Skelton has only been in the NFL for 2 seasons and one of those included a lockout shortened off season where the Deuce was injured and missed time. But everyone already knows he's not any good? What happened to QBs needing 3-5 years to get NFL game ready?

I just can't believe how many people are ready to give up on the guy just by looking at the numbers and ignoring the results by going along with the mob mentality that the defense won all those games last season. Without ever scoring a point and almost never providing the offense with a short field.

fwiw there is some talk about the eagles being involved with Jackson which would make perfect sense ... they just don't want to pay his $4M contract this year

Jackson can"t even make third string on the Seahawks. WE have enough problems and IMO Skelton can solve a big ? mark.

I dont get why people would remotely consider this stuff. I think we can all agree the Cards need a franchise QB. So why are we talking about wasting more time on a guy like Jackson or McCoy who have shown pretty soundly that they are, at best, below average players.
