They're both invisible linebackers making 100 percent more than they deserve.

After week 1, salaries are guaranteed. It would make no sense to cut him now, as we would eat the cap hit anyway.

Am I seeing this right? Please lie to me and tell me this isn't so that this team is wasting this kind of money on a guy that doesn't even play. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/

The Cardinals don't have any good LBs on the team. So it shouldn't be a shock that Spoon is the highest paid one on the team as he is one of the few veterans at the position. If you compare him to other LBs in the league he is the 55th highest paid:

Exactly, it's all relative. He is not being paid much compared to other ILB's. I am all for putting the best players on the field and if Minter/Buchannon are playing better, then they should be in there. However, I am surprised how far Spoon has fallen off the radar. I would have at least assumed he would have been able to split some time.

I don't believe Washington is drawing a salary while on suspension. If he is, it kind of makes any suspensions pointless.

Unfortunately he is. He counts for 3 million against the cap this year despite being suspended.

He isn't being paid a salary though... counting against the cap doesn't mean that Washington is getting paid. It just affects our ability to sign other players.

So the sheer stupidity of this doesn't bother you?

Keim hit the nail on so many of these 1 year deals, that it doesn't really bother me to see one miss.

One Weatherspoon, but there was Dansby, Shaughnessey, Cromartie, Redding, Rucker, and now Chris Johnson... I can't fault Keim for rolling the dice on a guy. He's usually right on these.

Weatherspoon is what you call, a free agent bust. It happens.

Daryl Washington will be a June 1st cut next offseason, and the club will finally be done with him, and thank goodness for that.

Is what it is.

Rucker's was a multi-year deal:

Shaugnessey was a one-year deal, then got extended for two years, and cut after one:

Surprised that Shaugnessey doesn't have a job right now.

Exactly what I was thinking, SK has done a fantastic job in FA and getting solid to great talent and often on the cheap.
