According to some speculation from an inside - but low ranking - source (and that a few weeks ago), season ticket holders could number above the 40,000 mark - perhaps 'well' above. But as far as I know, no numbers have been released yet.

They are still in the process of getting last years 32,000 season ticket holders new seats. I believe that a very high percent of last years are reupping. Then, they have a list for new ticket holder who have put down deposits to be next in line for their seat choice. So, it wouldn't shock me if they have new 4-5 thousand people in line, most will by 2 tickets.

That would put the 2006 ticket holders up close to 40,000 out of a total of 63,000? Not bad. Sign a few good players and get some good press and that figure could jump even higher.

Lets not forget all the season ticket holders who are in line to purchase additional tickets.

And don't forget that of those 63,000 seats 7,500 of them are Club seats that do not count towards a sellout. So only 55,500 tix for a sellout and then we can see the Cardinals play at home on local TV for a change.

I've heard there are over 7500 deposits for new tickets so over 40,000 is a good possibility.

Couple of #'s for you:

Last year 32,000 season ticket holders. Say 90% re-up (not unrealistic and probably a lower # then reality with the new stadium): 28,800 tickets sold to current holders.

Next step is current holders who wish to buy additional seats, lets lo ball that and say just 20% decide to buy an additional seat and 10% decide to buy 2 each: 11,520 additional tickets sold.

Third step: Flex pass buyers or people who placed the $100 deposit but did not have season tickets last year, I would low ball that # at around 4000 people, say half buy 2 tickets, half buy single seats: 6000 more tickets sold.

Total season tickets sold: 46,320.

And to me thats a low ball #. On the high end I would move season ticket renewal to 95%, current holders buying additional seats to 30% & 15% and new tickets holders to 6000 deposits, which would make total season tickets sold high end: 57,600.

So say meet more twords the low end and say 50,000 likely season tickets sold by the time they go to single game tickets.

I could see the team ending up with 4-5 sell outs this coming year.

I'm in line to purchase 4 additional tickets, and I've already got my 4 seats re-upped.

I can see existing ticket holder possibly buying an extra 2 tickets about 15% of the time. But, there is little point in purchasing 1 extra ticket. I want to purchase 1 more ticket, but since the section I purchased my tickets in is sold out, if I bought 1 more, someone would have to sit off, by themselves. So it's either 2 or none.

flex pass

I had a season ticket sales guy call me last night. He said between renewals and $100 deposits they are approaching the 40,000 mark. Also, Flex passes have been discontinued and will likely never be offered in the new stadium.

I will be shocked if we don't sell out every home game this year. The novelty of the stadium will be the reason for the sell outs. People will want to be there to see how the tax dollars have been spent.
