I don't think Rick Clausen can beat Auburn, but UT under Fulmer has a history of beating teams they were not given a chance to (Like UGA this year). It is just that UT struggles with the teams they should beat easily (ND, Vandy, KY).

You definitely know UT bro. Historically, UT has won the games they were picked to lose, and lost the games they were picked to win. I.E., '85 Sugar Bowl, Miami was huge fav, UT whipped 'em 35-7. '98 Fiesta Bowl, FSU was favored, UT played a great game and won 23-16. They come ready to play, no doubt about it, when nobody gives them a shot. Fulmer somehow knows how to get them up for it. But, last year they had Clemson in the Peach Bowl, and got beat.....CLEMSON  , please, they should've crushed 'em!

I noticed you're in Nashville, I'm from Upper Antioch (the priest lake side of Murfressboro Rd).

I live on Old Hickory Blvd (that narrows it down :) - in Bellevue. Lived in TN for almost 3 years now - moved from Phoenix for work - company I have worked for the 8 years in based in Nashville.

I have picked up most of my UT/Titans knowledge since then - reading the papers, listening to sports talk shows, etc. Definately a different attitude towards college football out here.

Also is funny listening to the talk shows about the Titans this year - Nashville has been spoiled by the Titans since they got here, and doesn't know how to handle the losing very well. People are actually saying Fisher should be fired, which is crazy.

I know of that part of town, just never got that far out. I was born and raised there, lived there for 28 years, but just always stayed south and east of town, and eventually ended up in the boro before heading west.

And the attitude towards college fb there, thats what I've been trying to tell people here. Pac 10 is a poor example of how great it truly can be. The SEC is by far and large the most dominate conference year after year after year in all of college! It took the music city miracle and the super bowl apperance for the Titans to finally gain the city's attention, which was mostly and still is.....ORANGE!

And, Titan fans are definately spoiled, that's why you won't find me on their board too much any more. I post there some, but it's up in the college forum talking about the vols, or in the nfl forum talking about the Cards. I got smacked around there early in the year for talking cards football, but they kinda leave me alone now though :p

Which Titan Forum do you post on?

Looks like Clausen is the man -- Schafer did not make the trip.

It will be interesting to see if the Bar Brawl Thursday AM will have any impact on the team - what the heck were 20 UT football players doing at a bar at 2:00am this week?

I post on titansonline msg board (TOMB), I do not know of any others. There, I am PhoenixAzTitan, which is close to 3 other id's, I think there is an aztitan, phxaztitan, and aztitanfan I think. Just remember mine is the only 1 with the BIG RED REDBIRD :D I talk to aztitan on my cell some, he and some others are coming to the niner game since titans play on MNF that week. I've tried consistently and persistently to get him to some cards games already regardless of when the titans play, I tivo my titan games, he can too. But, he doesn't. I'd rather be at a game live any game, then to watch one on tv, thats just me though.

About the Vol brawl. That may be a good thing!! It means these boys are FIRED UP!! Yeah, they had no business at all being out that time of morning, but I'm sure they heard ALOT of "you su.k", and "Auburns gonna smash you" which could be what started the brawl. And I am glad Fulmer isn't playing Schaeffer. He did not impress me at all early this year, not like Ainge did. And since the Irish game, Rick has come along well. They are putting some good points up, it's the defense that's been laying the stink bombs.

I am expecting a high HIGH scoring shootout tomorrow

Impressive Auburn stat I heard today - their defense has only given up 39 points all year when leading by less than 20. In other words, when it is close, they are not letting anyone score.

Maybe the Vols can re-write the stat books tomorrow!!! I heard from another who lives in Knoxville that said he watched the day before pre-game show on local Knoxville tv and he said the defense was FIRED UP like I said they should be!!! He said Clausen has been looking AWESOME in practice this week, so it was a no-brainer for Coach Fulmer. Why go with Schaeffer who has been out a month, and even if he did play, not at 100%?? He also went on to say that Auburn looked uptight, the national championship was definitely weighing heavy on their minds.

Oh, how sweet it would be if the Vols pull out yet another stunning upset to add to their legendary list of upsets!! A win should send the Vols to the Sugar. But, where would it send the Tigers?? Citrus?? I hate to say this, but if the Tigers do win, then they absolutely deserve a shot at USC for the nat'l title. There is no doubt in my mind that OU would be blown away by either USC or Auburn, OU is overrated!! But anyhow, which bowl would the Vols go to if they don't pull it off tomorrow, Citrus??

Man, it is so good to see an Arizonan out there back home. You see first hand what I can only feel in my heart!! I haven't been out here very long at all, but Big Red has definitely grown on to me. And, I guess Big Orange has definitely grown on to you!!

Here is a link that should get everybody PUMPED UP for tomorrow

Hoping for the trifecta of upsets today - Colorado, UCLA and UT.
No one is giving the Vols much of a chance, but methinks Fulmer will have the guys ready to play hard.

BOWL IMPLICATIONS

If Tennessee wins, it goes to the Sugar Bowl to likely face the winner of this weekend's Virginia Tech/Miami game. Auburn is likely Sugar Bowl bound with a win, but it'll play in the Orange if either USC loses to UCLA or Oklahoma loses to Colorado. It's still possible for the Tigers to play for the national title with a blowout win over the Vols and a lackluster performance by the Sooners. The loser will almost certainly play in the Cotton Bowl against, most likely, Texas.
Vols and 'Canes in the Sugar???

Tough game - the Vols hung tough, but couldn't stop Campbell. The phantom hold that called back the TD didn't help either.

Killer play - the offsides on the Vols D - Auburn kept playing, Vols quit. Auburn gets long TD pass.
