You definitely know UT bro. Historically, UT has won the games they were picked to lose, and lost the games they were picked to win. I.E., '85 Sugar Bowl, Miami was huge fav, UT whipped 'em 35-7. '98 Fiesta Bowl, FSU was favored, UT played a great game and won 23-16. They come ready to play, no doubt about it, when nobody gives them a shot. Fulmer somehow knows how to get them up for it. But, last year they had Clemson in the Peach Bowl, and got beat.....CLEMSON , please, they should've crushed 'em!Dback Jon said:I don't think Rick Clausen can beat Auburn, but UT under Fulmer has a history of beating teams they were not given a chance to (Like UGA this year). It is just that UT struggles with the teams they should beat easily (ND, Vandy, KY).

I noticed you're in Nashville, I'm from Upper Antioch (the priest lake side of Murfressboro Rd).
I know of that part of town, just never got that far out. I was born and raised there, lived there for 28 years, but just always stayed south and east of town, and eventually ended up in the boro before heading west.Dback Jon said:I live on Old Hickory Blvd (that narrows it down - in Bellevue. Lived in TN for almost 3 years now - moved from Phoenix for work - company I have worked for the 8 years in based in Nashville.
I have picked up most of my UT/Titans knowledge since then - reading the papers, listening to sports talk shows, etc. Definately a different attitude towards college football out here.
Also is funny listening to the talk shows about the Titans this year - Nashville has been spoiled by the Titans since they got here, and doesn't know how to handle the losing very well. People are actually saying Fisher should be fired, which is crazy.
I post on titansonline msg board (TOMB), I do not know of any others. There, I am PhoenixAzTitan, which is close to 3 other id's, I think there is an aztitan, phxaztitan, and aztitanfan I think. Just remember mine is the only 1 with the BIG RED REDBIRD I talk to aztitan on my cell some, he and some others are coming to the niner game since titans play on MNF that week. I've tried consistently and persistently to get him to some cards games already regardless of when the titans play, I tivo my titan games, he can too. But, he doesn't. I'd rather be at a game live any game, then to watch one on tv, thats just me though.Dback Jon said:Which Titan Forum do you post on?
Looks like Clausen is the man -- Schafer did not make the trip.
It will be interesting to see if the Bar Brawl Thursday AM will have any impact on the team - what the heck were 20 UT football players doing at a bar at 2:00am this week?
Maybe the Vols can re-write the stat books tomorrow!!! I heard from another who lives in Knoxville that said he watched the day before pre-game show on local Knoxville tv and he said the defense was FIRED UP like I said they should be!!! He said Clausen has been looking AWESOME in practice this week, so it was a no-brainer for Coach Fulmer. Why go with Schaeffer who has been out a month, and even if he did play, not at 100%?? He also went on to say that Auburn looked uptight, the national championship was definitely weighing heavy on their minds.Dback Jon said:Impressive Auburn stat I heard today - their defense has only given up 39 points all year when leading by less than 20. In other words, when it is close, they are not letting anyone score.
BOWL IMPLICATIONSDback Jon said:Hoping for the trifecta of upsets today - Colorado, UCLA and UT.
No one is giving the Vols much of a chance, but methinks Fulmer will have the guys ready to play hard.
Vols and 'Canes in the Sugar???If Tennessee wins, it goes to the Sugar Bowl to likely face the winner of this weekend's Virginia Tech/Miami game. Auburn is likely Sugar Bowl bound with a win, but it'll play in the Orange if either USC loses to UCLA or Oklahoma loses to Colorado. It's still possible for the Tigers to play for the national title with a blowout win over the Vols and a lackluster performance by the Sooners. The loser will almost certainly play in the Cotton Bowl against, most likely, Texas.
Uh huh, sure :roll:Skkorpion said:Auburn wins this one by 20+ points.
