It's too bad that the early-entry-trend among other things has all but eliminated the value of second round picks. Remember when 2nd round gems were more common?
Especially in terms of the SUNS scouting back in the day.

Notable SUNS 2nd rd picks
Steve Kerr-'88
Jeff Hornacek-'86
Cedric Ceballos-'90
Richard Dumas-'91
Stephen Jackson-'97(waived)
--------------------
Some recent notable 2nd rd picks
Brandon Bass N.O. Hornets '05
Anderson Varejao Orlando Magic '04
Trevor Ariza N.Y. Knicks '04
Keith Bogans Milwaukee Bucks '03
James Jones Indiana Pacers '03
Kyle Korver N.J. Nets '03
Carlos Boozer Cleveland Cavaliers '02
Luis Scola S.A. Sterns '02
Gilbert Arenas G.S. Warriors '01
Mehmet Okur Detroit Pistons '01
Eddie House Miami Heat '00
Michael Redd Milwaukee Bucks '00
-------------------------------
Here's a comprehensive site to view the draft history for anyone who's interested. I spent an hour and a half just looking at some of the names. I forgot that the SUNS passed over John Stockton for Jay Humphries

in '84.....what a draft that was too.
The NBA Draft isn't what it used to be.
