Enter Russ Grimm and it seems he has done a very good job with the OL. What is the result with what he has done so far? Against a very GOOD Raven defense playing at home we found out in the second half that Larry Fitzgerald and especially Anquan Boldin who we had high hopes for in Whis' offense are still amazing WRs...heck Boldin almost had 200 yrds recieving and majority of that came in the second half. So what am I getting at, I'm getting at something I just yesterday had a hard time accepting and really shouldn't as a Cardinal fan. What is this? With a OL doing its job- Edge looks like the Edge we imagined coming from Indy and fellow Cardinal fans...Kurt Warner looked like the Kurt Warner who lead the Rams to all that glory. Look at the replays, Kurt Warner's performance was jaw dropping. I think Leinart is our QB of the future and I know he needs his reps but seeing is believing and I saw yesterday that Kurt Warner can be the Warner of old behind a decent OL just like Edge. Is it possible to be practical when doing so would hamper what we all want...and that is a playoff team. Fitz, Q, Edge and Warner playing at their full potential behind a NFL caliber line- ...can we really ignore what we saw on Sunday, can Whis?

If Grimm stays here for 3 years I have little doubt Arizona will have a top 3 offensive line.

It's a process and he is doing a great job thus far.

I will temper my thoughts on the QB situation, Warner is a great player, I wanted him to beat out McCwhatever and wanted him to suceed last season as well. I do worry about ML and I do not buy into the crap that we can just dump him and go get X college QB, it never works like that in real life and we have the worst GM in football.

If we played the no huddle hurry up the whole game I'd be all for it. As Whis said, Kurt excels in that package and Matt doesn't. Whis also stressed that Kurt excels in that package. I don't know how he would look in the two back or two TE sets of the standard offense. But if Matt doesn't show something good soon, we'll find out.

I'm not going to translate Kurt's success with the spread offense no huddle against a team that didn't plan for him into him doing the same thing with the standard offensive set.

I'm ok with keeping Matt as starter for now, and going to the spread offense no huddle with Kurt if Matt doesn't perform well.

True, and I think we also need to think about the strategy for that game will and should differ going forward. they threw 20 times out of there first 25, Edge will reduce the amount throws as he needs to touch the ball 20-25 times going forward. AZ is not suddenly going to be a pass happy team just because we had some success against Baltimore. Whiz still wants to run the ball.

I have a question. The two minute offense tends to be so damn successfull. Why can't we just run no huddle until we have a big enough lead? If the Raven's can't stop it then who will? The only healthy secondary in the NFL that is better than their's is the Broncos who we don't play this year. After we are up 28-3 all of you who want to watch Matt proggress can do so in the second half as Edge carries 30Xs.

only problem

a HB needs to touch the ball a certain number of times before he gets a feel of the game and start producing as he should, don't no why but that seems to hold true- they have to warm that engine up. If we just passed and passed, I doubt Edge would be as effective when we would turn to him after limited carries in the beginning of the game.

Also...in comes Elton Brown at RT and noone missed a beat versus the best pass rush in the NFL...which suggests that these players are so well coached, they all fit in...just as Lyle Sendlein has performed very well as a UCFA rookie starter.

I've seen this posted quite a bit and it seems to imply that Warner wouldn't do well, or as well as Leinart, in the pro-set schemes. But, how well was Leinart doing in those situations? His numbers were pretty horrible so I don't see that as a valid excuse for rotating the qb position or keeping Warner on the bench. Maybe there is a good reason but I don't think that should be it.

IWhy can't we just run no huddle until we have a big enough lead?

The Buffalo Bills only rode the no huddle offense to FOUR straight Super Bowl appearances . . .

I realize they never won, but no other team has been conference champion for four years running since the AFL-NFL merger.
