The wife and I went to see The Village at our 'second run/dollar theater' last night. About 2/3 of the way through the movie, in one of the scenes, she says, "is that the microphone on the top of the screen?" Well, sure enough, we could see the 'stick' type microphone in a couple of scenes. Then, we see the big fuzzy gray microphone hanging down in about 5 more scenes. What's up with that? Do dollar theaters get a different version? I felt like I was Seinfeld watching a black market copy of the movie......At one point in the movie, the frame got off and had to be adjusted, is that why we saw it? It was weird.

I'll bet it wasn't framed correctly...it was probably too low, and you shouldn't have ever seen that top part...

Must be an M. Night thing. You can see the boom mike in the scene in The Sixth Sense when Cole starts yelling "Stuttering Stanley! Stuttering Stanley!"

It's not the filmmakers fault, it's the projectionist's fault, they didn't properly frame the film in the projector.

Mike is correct.

I can never call him "Chandler Mike". To me, he'll always be "Mike". :D

You, however, I will always know as "SOB" -- oops. I mean "BIM". ;p
