Seems PP took some offense to Sherman's outburst as well….

I think the latent racism point you make and he make is complete bunk.

Thug is not synoumous with African Americans. I have seen and celled white people, hispanic peope, black people, and oriental people.....Thugs.

No racial connotation whatsoever at least for me. And for Sherman to suggest otherwise hurts the cause of ACTUAL racism.

And I dont think Sherman is a Thug. I think he is a punk. And I got no time for it. Even if PP is 50% the player that Sherman is (and i dont think thats the case) ill take him every day of the week over that guy.

Now you want to talk about some black on black crime? Read Andre Iguodala's TL when this happened. As a black man he used a inapproriate term as an adjective and said Sherman set the whole race back 500 years. I dont agree with it. Hell I wouldnt be caught dead thinking that let alone tweeting it.

But interesting comment nonetheless from another african american athlete.

The whole Sherman backtracking after this and then Skip Bayless comments makes me respect him even less. You know what you are doing. Your shtick is manufactured. Its all crafted for a purpose.

So OWN IT. Dont back pedal like a punk. You want to be the heel, the villian, then take the good and bad that comes with it.

lol...oriental people?

I don't. I think she was surprised. Erin Andrews has been a sports reporter for years. Had she not been cut off by her producer (she said she was) I think she'd have asked him another question and held out the mic and let him continue to erupt.

This is the stuff that can make a career. No one's talked about a sports reporter this much since Brent Mussberger said, "Wow!"

I think she was taken back, meaning surprised and a little scared, I think I saw her testies shoot up. But she went on with a great question, because I didn't know what Sherman was talking about.

"Who's talking about you?"

I couldn't have come up with a better question myself, especially on the fly. It allowed Sherman to continue, you saw a flash where he thought about calming down but homie was breathing hard.

Only thing is Crabtree does just as much trash talking.

If you watch the play, Craptree was playing the ball on the ground, making sure he had out of bounds secured. Our boy Fitz would have played the ball like he does, grab it as soon as it comes into the atmosphere, fight for it. Instead we watched a Craptree run and clap his crap talking hands in anticipation of the ball being there, while Sherman went up for it and wasn't even in the position Craptree was. They're both ********* once they get on the field, but I think Craptree is a full timer, on and off the field.

His answer was clear "Crabtree".

I found this
L.O.B. means 'Legion of Boom', Seattle's nickname for its defense

LOB = Legion of Boom - nickname for the Seattle secondary

As for talking - both were mic'd up and there wasn't much said during the game between them (in fact nothing was said between them until the "heluva game" at the end

It is neat reading all these theories though ;)

Asian. I haven't been reading Politically Correct newsletter since 1998. Is the term oriental considered racist, archaic, or just daft?

Either way I think the point remains the same.

think it's pretty much considered racist/archaic at this point (and has been for a long time if you've got any friends who are "oriental")...which just made me chuckle coming from the guy who thought there was no racist connotation to labeling a loudmouth who's never been in trouble with the law or beating people a thug.

agree to disagree here though...personally, I hear the word thug and it seems to me people are calling the guy something else...just like they did with Trayvon Martin when they called him a thug, just like how John H here likened Sherman to a 20 year inmate at the big house.

Here's the massive issue I have with super smart salutatorian Sherman. Dude acts the heel, then tries to pretend he didn't. Apply..rinse...repeat. Over and over again. Eazy E style...studio gangsta..but he's a media gangsta. And everywhere else, he's freaking Erkel. You are either the assface, or you aren't. you can't be super cool explora dora, and also predator face alien eating your babies angry. Pick a path, dick.

FFS, I watched him and one of my most hated media douches in Skip Bayless trade harmless crap, RS trying to be "media hard" and Skip trying to be "did he just nail me to the wall?" and was bored to tears. I hate both of these guys, but together, they were a snoozefest.

Yup. Totally Agree.

Studio Gangster. Love it. One of my favorite rips of all time.

Racist? Really. Heres the thing.

Asian is too inclusive to me. I have Indian blood in me and when ever I get to the multiple choice, pick your ethnicity question I have to think - Should I mark Asian? Because India is in Asia. And there is no East India box. I ussually end up picking White.

Oriental is kind of old timey but is more specific IMO.

Instead of fighting Crabtree, he said he'd "do him in the media."

Really dude? That's so freaking soft. And Sherman would probably whoop Crabtree in an actual fight.

And man, do I hate Crabtree.

I mean in the whole scheme of things what was worse his reaction after the game or the stuff Riley Cooper spewed because he'd been drinking and didn't realize people were going to find out what he said?

I don't get this comparison. Riley did not go on in front of an International TV audience and spew vitriol. As far as Cooper's backlash it was huge. So where are you going with this comparison?

I'm just trying to follow the storyline as well

Is Sherman immature because he's not looking to throw punches at a charity event or get arrested for assault under any circumstance?!

Because in my experience it's the insecure who put their pride before their sense who do stupid stuff like that

thug
[ thug ]

brutal person: somebody, especially a criminal, who is brutal and violent
Indian robber: a member of a former secret organization of robbers in India, worshipers of the goddess Kali, who strangled their victims

So where does the racial attachment come from Richard?
