This team is so damn inconsistent at the plate. Just look at the last 5 games (one week);

Segura - 10 for 18, OPS of 1.341
Tomas - 8 for 20, 2HR, 3 Doubles, OPS of 1.250

Goldy - 2 for 16, OPS of .613
Drury - 4 for 19, OPS of .566
Lamb - 0 for 15, OPS of .063

It wouldn't be such an issue if we actually were able to roll out major league quality pitching... Additionally, Segura has been steady all season... he's just a touch hotter at the moment. And Tomas? LOL... His 259 batting average, .300 OBP and .760 OPS tell the story. Yes, he's on a nice run while hitting against the worst pitching staff in the majors! But unless some switch that nobody knew existed has suddenly been turned on - which isn't the case - he'll revert back to his normal level of suckyness...

And Lamb and Drury? Not really worried about Goldy, but Lamb is in a horrid slump, and Drury's season OPS is below that of Tomas.

And if it is the worst pitching staff in baseball, why did Goldy, Lamb and Drury get skunked against them?

Do I need to remind you - again - how much we pay Tomas??

It's not an "if" Jon. Statistically speaking, the Reds' pitching staff is actually worse than ours... they are dead last in the majors.
If I can tell you (and Chip) why Goldy, Lamb and Drury couldn't hit such putrid pitching (Goldy at least went yard yesterday), I guess I would have a shot at being the next Theo Epstein... ;)

Paul is such a super hot, super cold player. His power looks down as well this year too.
