Dansby would replace Minter if signed...I know I wouldn't mind that.

It comes down to cost. Dansby has always been a good leader with the Cardinals. He would be a solid mentor for Bucannon even if it is just seeing how Dansby trains and prepares.

I would make the move. Checks off another box, and provides more flexibility on draft day which I am always for.

Third times a charm. First two times were very good as well. Come on los, sign for the minimum with the Cards, karma can be repaired. :)

Browns released ILB Karlos Dansby.
Dansby is entering his age-35 season and is happy with the move, as he knew he didn't have a chance at winning with the rebuilding Browns. The new regime seems to be tearing it all down and starting again from the basement level. Dansby's play slipped in 2015, but he's still a quality starter. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 inside linebacker in coverage and is a known playmaker. Dansby will be looking for a contender. The Browns save $3.5 million against the cap with the move.

Just happened. I guess Cleveland is on twitter.

I'd sign him to replace Minter in a heartbeat. Dude's always been a great player and an even better mercenary. Put him on this LBing corps with Jones, Buc and hopefully an improved Golden and this D continues to take leap steps forward.

He says he wants a ring... he can get one in AZ. He can sign for 1 yr 3.5 and help up the middle

Yep.

What's even crazier, is that most of us predicted this exact scenario 2 yrs ago. He wasted his, ours, and their time.

That said, I'd take him back.

but he doubled his money with the guaranteed cash he got in Cleveland. Now, if he comes back, he gets the best of all worlds!

Do it Keim. Build this D into an absolute monster again like it was in 2013 and nothing can stop us (unless Palmer goes full Delhomme).

There is no real bad blood with the Cardinals and Dansby... he fits great with us and bringing him back and him leaving is almost a Cardinal tradition lol

Yep.

Who knows what could of been had he stayed. He wasted everyone's time.

Now that he got kicked out of the bed he made and was on, he is free to go wherever.

Do we swallow our pride and pick him up? Yep.

He's screwed us twice, but at the end of the day if he can still help us, we shouldn't let pride keep us from a championship.

Keim could pop in the film and see if he still has it.

Stat wise he had 108 tackles, 3 INT's, and 2 TD's last year.

People are imagining KD when he left... but what does he ACTUALLY have left?

a lot. He's played really well for an awful team the last two years. 108 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 3 picks last year, 2TDs. He does what he's always done. Make plays.

Really...

Is he better than Weatherspoon?

He's older and coming off of another large contract.

He signed here for 2 million last time and was three years younger. Why give him 75% extra on top of that?

From NFL Network

""They're in a rebuild," Dansby told Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. "This will get me closer to my destiny.

"I'm sure the Bengals are licking their chops right now."

The inference is that Dansby expects to close out his illustrious career with a linebacker-needy contender, such as Hue Jackson's former club in Cincinnati.

Although Dansby continued to turn in big plays in his 12th NFL season -- forcing three fumbles and returning a pair of interceptions for touchdowns -- he was a prime culprit in Cleveland's porous run defense. It's certainly not unusual for a linebacker's tackling ability to fall off as he reaches his mid-thirties.

Dansby, 34, can still be an asset on a team with playoff aspirations, however. He remains an excellent coverage linebacker in addition to maintaining rare playmaking instincts.

From a dot-connecting standpoint, Dansby's former coordinators Todd Bowles, Jim O'Neil and Kevin Coyle are now with the Jets, 49ers and Bengals, respectively.

He knew EXACTLY what he was signing up for! I don't get why some players sign deals with bad teams just to get a million dollars more. Yea, 1 million dollars is a lot of money, but when you know it's gonna be miserable conditions....it makes no sense.
<snip> <Snip>

it wasn't ONE million, it was a whole bunch of change your life forever millions... twice as many of them as AZ offered, his Browns guaranteed money was more than AZ's offer all by itself...

ANYBODY (including you) would take that offer or be looked at as fool...

great stats last year
sign him and put him in Buc's spot (not Minter's) and have Buc and Badger freelancing all over the field while Chandler and Freeney (sign him too) chase down the QB ... whoo hoo ... an INT machine

Dansby made "change your life forever money" well before he took the Cleveland offer.

Doesnt matter. Every single one of us would take round 2 of change your life money if it was offered, especially when it is to do the same job you love to do.
