Actually, WFAN was saying today that the contract is structured very favorably towards the Giants. To the point that if they cut him, the cap hit is roughly $4 mil, but if they kept him next year (which there is NO chance they do), the cap figure is something like $8 or $9 mil.

Plax has played his last game in Giant blue.

Non-football PUP is essentially the same thing for cap purposes. They are not paying him the rest of his salary for this season, and he doesn't occupy a roster spot. In fact I think this is cheaper in the short-run then cutting him because they don't take the cap hit of his signing bonus.

The team also placed him on the reserve non-football injury list, which means the wide receiver couldn’t come back for playoffs, either.
