As much as I don't want to admit it, I have to say that EJ Manuel looked the best of the QB's today. He led 3 scoring drives, looked good in the pocket with good movement and escapability, and threw the ball very well. His TD pass was as good a throw as you'll see from anybody. I didn't see too many bad throws from him at all and he definitely pushed the ball downfield better than the others.

I was thinking the same thing. And he can run a little bit.

Short is all over the place. He and Ezekiel Ansu (sp) are probably the two best defensive players out there today. Names called a lot
Other than Ansah, if these two teams accurately reflect the composition of the entire 2013 draft crop, it seems pretty evident that the strength of this draft is the OL and DL..

Glennon looked good in the 2nd half. He has a big arm and when he gets hot can make all the throws. But he was very inconsistent today.

That's bothersome though and streakiness has been his calling card. My thinking is, any QB is good when they get hot. I want a guy who is more consistent and reliable.

I just wonder with good "pro" coaching if he can develop into a quality NFL qb. He also needs to add about 20 lbs.

Went about how I thought, with EJ looking the best but still not near as good as Smith will be. Glennon and Wilson are jus too inaccurate for me.

Maybe but that is statement you would use on a 3rd round pick or lower and not on a 1st rounder.
I want a somewhat finished product that can step it up at the NFL level if we take a QB at 7 but there obviuosly isn't one in this class, including Geno Smith.

I still think Tyler Wilson in the most developed QB at this point and will make the quickest transition in the NFL. But it's hard to say with any certainty that any QB in this draft will make it.

If you are comparing Smith to Luck, then I would agree, but Smith is by far the most polished, NFL QB in this class and would have been the third QB off the board in last years draft.

I think with a little footwork help, he can be a very good QB. The thing I like about him the most is his competitiveness and is football IQ...he ran that offense at WVU and had total command at the LOS.

It irritates me when they keep saying so-and-so can make all the throws. We have 3 qbs who can make all the throws. But that doesn't mean they have the "it" factor and can perform at the highest level consistently and when the pressure is the greatest.

I want a smart qb that knows when not to throw it, even though he can "make the throw". Someone who is instinctual and is a winner. Someone who can thread the needle when need be, yet not so overconfident that he throws into traffic. It seems all the qbs today got away with a lot of poor throws that would have been intercepted easy in the NFL and many for pick sixes.

We just don't need to waste any draft pick on another clip board holding QB. We have and have had a ton of them recently. If we can't get lucky in the next year or two in the draft, then we need to bite the bullet and pick up one like a Brees when they happen to pop onto the market. We just have to be ready for when it happens and get him no matter what it takes, as Denver did last year.

Enough of these "well maybe with the right coaching" he may develop into something. How many of these 3-4 year experiments are we going to have to suffer through?

Personally, I would call up Dallas and see if they are ready to dump Romo and start over at QB. Who knows, they like to wheel and deal at draft time. Maybe they would like our 1st pick if they could get Geno Smith. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Why Romo you ask? He doesn't throw many interceptions and can consistently put up the numbers and points to win games. With our D and a developed running game the improvement of the inside of our OL, Romo would win lots of games for us for the next 4-5 yrs. I would take Romo over a Rivers or Cutler any day of the week.

they have the strength to make all the throws but that does not mean they can make all of the throws. Kolb has the weakest arm strength of our QBs (not a weak arm but in comparison) but he has more accuracy to make the throw. Making the throw not only means getting it there, but getting it where the WR can catch it. No, all our QBs cannot make all the throws.

It's hard to judge the QB's in an all star game no matter who it is. That's probably why the scouts and NFL personnel don't even stick around for the game

That is a very good point. Russell Wilson looked terrible in the actual game last year and Kapernick the year before did nothing. We tend to over analyze the game performance.

That is so true, jammer---

However, these QB didn't even look the part, imo, except for EJ Manuel and when you go and watch his play in big games at FSU, he really struggled, threw super tentatively and made costly mistakes. So, someone is going to have to bring out the poise and clutch in him.

Wilson has a Brees-esque bounce to his game, which I like...but the one shot he took down the field was badly under-thrown. He did prove he could complete an array of 3-5 yard passes.

Glennon and Jones don't look like leaders---there's something missing there.

Dysert has some moxie to him, but what's up with him failing conditioning tests? What a red flag that is.

If we were switch to a west coast offense, Wilson might be a good fit due to his accuracy and decision making in the short passing game. Otherwise - I just didn't see anything special.

Not a very favorable game analysis on Tyler Wilson from Walterfootball.com:

Tyler Wilson looked like a right-handed version of Matt Leinart in the Senior Bowl. He spent most of his time checking down, and his one deep attempt died in the air and was nearly picked off. This was only one throw, but scouts already had reservations about his deep ball heading into the Senior Bowl, so this only validated their concerns. It's tough to imagine Wilson going in the first round now. He finished 8-of-11, but for only 39 yards.

Tyler Wilson is a winner IMO. He is the only QB worth drafting. If the Cardinals don't want him then c'mon Teddy Bridgewater next year draft.
