His Combine workouts were as a linebacker, and he scored near the top for his position in nearly every category - what remains to be proved is how fast he can adjust to the new position, but according to Mayock, he's got the fastest first-step of any defensive player in the draft.
Think of him, perhaps, as the Matt Jones of this year's defensive crop - only needing to make less of an adjustment than Jones will.
I don't agree that Ware will last to #44, but if he did, the Cards would be obliged to take him, because he'd figure to be "best available player" hands down on their board
