I understand. I have never sold my tickets, ever. There are three games I have ever missed. I gave my tickets to Cards fans.
We've never sold either. I have missed only 2 games since the team moved here. Both preseason. Both due to deaths in our family. Just didn't feel like going because of the circumstances. Had they been regular-season games we would have gone. Both times our tickets went to ASFN'ers (AzCards21 and Skkorp - in the SDS days). Just don't get the concept of selling seats at all. We became season ticket holders because we want to go to every home game and support the team. When the schedule comes out we mark those dates on the calendar and we know exactly where we'll be. As I've said before - it is the easiest sport to attend every home game for your team.

This. I just don't get the concept of buying season tickets unless your one and only goal is to go see your team for every single home game. If your reason is anything else you shouldn't be buying them.

Mikey B does have a hand in this. He's always had more interest in selling every seat than who is in them.

That is quite the philosophical question for an owner. "Hey Mike. Would you rather have an empty seat in the stadium? Or a seat with a Packers fan in it?"

If his interest is winning games it should be an empty seat. If his interest is making money then he wouldn't care who was in it. I think we know which it is.

Game day revenue (tickets, parking, concessions, team store etc) and about 27% of Cardinals revenue. Average attendance is 62,000. Let's say 15,000 of them are away fans in home seats. So 25%. That's about $30m a year in revenue he's making off those seats, about 10% is profit after all costs. From a total of $400m.

But he doesn't have to lose everything on those seats. He could offer discounts to schools kids and their families. Make them fans while young, build a fanbase for the future.

Seems shortsighted of him in my opinion to care so little about it.

What does all of this have to do with Cards fans that sell their tickets to opposing team fans? Bidwill has no control over that. Also his number 1 responsibility to his business as the president and CEO is to maximize profits. Sustained team success should be more than enough to build a future fan base.

Because if you read the whole thread you would see that the ticket sales office actively encourage fans to buy more season tickets that they need so they can sell them to away fans for profit.

So in today's world the most important thing to do is find someone at fault so they can be blamed for the outcome that someone didn't like. How many GB fans that were at the game ultimately doesn't matter a whole lot in the overall picture. It's just today's crusade. Tomorrow it will be something else.

I see. The old, I've lost the argument so I'll pretend the argument doesn't matter trick.

Nobody is finding anybody at fault. People are at fault. It was embarrassing enough watching Steelers fans take over the stadium but now it potential costs us the win over an NFC rival and the tie break in a tie for seeding. So yeah, it matters.

No I didn't lose an argument because I wasn't arguing with you. There doesn't always have to be a winner and a loser

Sell them if they want but then don't pretend to be a fan like those who don't sell and attend all games. Huge difference between the two.
“Pretend to be a fan.”

Brian, have you purchased every bit of cardinals gear that is sold? If not, don’t pretend to be a fan who does.

A) who pretends to be any kind of fan?
B) who are any of us to judge the fandom of anyone else?

You buy a bunch of seasons tickets and give them to cardinals fans who take a test. Then we can be done with all the whining about this.

So take a loss of revenue. Then we would see the same people bitching about not signing free agents.

Nicely taken out of context. I said go ahead and sell your seats but then don't pretend to be a fan like those of us who don't sell our seats and attend all of the games.

But continue on your nonsensical diatribe.

Nothing was taken outta context. You 100% are telling people what kind of fans they are. Please, explain how you’re not. I’ll wait.

Most seat tickets (with the exception being club level) are shared revenue among all teams.
That doesn’t matter. His father proved a dollar is a dollar and if he had less of them the product would suffer.

I know I’m late to the party but I’m buying 4 season tickets for next season and for the rest of my life and I will never sell to opposing fans. Been a Cards fan all my life. I am retiring next year and moving to Arizona. Hope to meet many of you for years to come at the games.

The Cardinals treated me extremely well and gave me a tour of the whole stadium when I was there for the Vikings game. They loved that I was a life long fan. I can’t say enough about how well I was treated and their rep spent at least two hours with me and my wife. I love the club seating that I bought and can’t wait for next season.

Yo. Settle down, there.

You build a stadium out in the west valley when most people live in the east valley. It takes 90 minutes to get to the stadium on a weeknight. (Once it took us TWO HOURS to get to a Coyotes game.) There are a crap ton of Packers fans that live here and won't change their allegiance and are willing to pay a crap ton for tickets. You have Packers fans that will travel because Arizona is a great place to visit when your state sucks weather-wise. You have ticket brokers who don't give a crap who gets tickets. And, yes, you have season ticket holders who can almost pay off their entire season by selling just this one game.

It sucks, but this is not as bad as when I went to SDS in 1997 and saw nothing but Patriots fans. And this isn't the only city experiencing this. Any state that counts on tourism revenue is going to see this happen. Plus, there is not longer the Black Hole or 700 level in Philly. Opposing fans are more welcomed now due to increased security.

Don't **** on my state.
What other states have this problem with visiting fans taking over their home professional games as evident with the Cardinals?

They didn't "take over". There were more Cardinals fans easy.

There were a lot of Cowboys fans in Minnesota last night who were easily audible during the broadcast. I think in my lifetime this has become much more of a thing. Flights are cheap. Several franchises have fan bases that are nationwide...

There are even Giants fans that are noticable in KC tonight.

There are away fans in the home sections of every game, but nowhere near what you see for the Cards.

This is not normal

I never claimed it was "normal". I know we get more opposing fans than any team other than the Chargers. What I am saying, is "normal" is changing. The days of a stadium, any stadium, being one solid color is over. Did you not see all the blue among the red in Arrowhead last night? Sure, the Giants fans were outnumbered big time, but it was easy to see that they were there in a few thousand.

It is also changing in our stadium over time. It isn't as bad as it used to be. It just isn't. I have sat in our stadiums for almost every game since 1994. You can't tell me I'm not seeing what I am seeing.
