So, for those of you in favor of the Shaq resting strategy, we have a back-to-back set coming up. Tonight we host the Pistons (7-2, won 3 straight) and tomorrow we travel to Utah (6-4, lost 3 straight). Which game, if any, do you sit Shaq?

Wallace and Okur look like Jordan every time Amare faces them.

So, no sitting. :)

the jazz are playing without Okur, Williams, Kirilenko, and Harpring. Go ahead and rest shaq in that one.

Yup
G Deron Williams missed his second straight game, and his eighth out of 10 this season, because of a sprained ankle suffered Oct. 18 in the Jazz’s next-to-last preseason game at Chicago.

F Andrei Kirilenko missed his second consecutive game with a sprained right index finger, suffered in the fourth quarter of a 95-87 loss at Washington on Wednesday.

F Matt Harpring, after making his first two game appearances of the season, sat out Saturday in the second night of a back-to-back. He did it several times last season because of sore knees. Now, he is just recovering from offseason ankle surgery and a post-operative infection. He played a combined 20 minutes against Washington and Charlotte.

C Mehmet Okur remains in Turkey, where his father is critically ill. There was no word on a timetable for his return.

No idea when they returns.

Play O'Neal against Detroit, because Stoudemire sucks against Wallace. Let Diaw and Stoudemire go to battle against Boozer and Koufos.

Wallace will just cherry pick the 3pt line if shaq is on him though. Amare will inevitably be covering wallace quite a bit imo.

He will rest now.. atleast for the rest of the game (no pun intended), if not for a few games after he didn't leave the floor.

lol yeah,

He'll get his rest after that flagrant 2, that should'nt have been a flagrant at all..

Shaq was going for the ball, Stuckey tried to turn his body before the fall and landed awkwardly. Meh.

i don't see shaq getting suspended for that. fined, maybe. kenyon martin was fined 20k for not leaving the game and cussing at crawford after he was ejected for his second technical. shaq will probably see the same punishment.

If a pushing match gets guys suspended, surely this will...it wasn't even a flag 2 but Stern sucks ass...nothing new

I know Shaq got a flagrant 2 foul and was ejected but I'm wondering if this is enough for Stern. It wouldn't surprise me if Shaq gets suspended for a game as well although this should not happen based on what occurred on the court.

I don't see how Stern has anything to do with Mauer (sp?) calling a flagrant 2 on shaq. Shaq also was stupid enough to fight off his own coach and team mates and stay on the court even after everyone told him he needed to leave. If he gets suspended, I won't be left wondering why.

I was very disappointed to see shaq shove off Porter on the court. If the league doesn't fine him I'm willing to bet the franchise does.

That whole tantrum he threw after getting ejected, pushing off the coaches and teammates, made him look like an idiot.

I agree....that was uncalled for, even though the call was absolute B.S. Shoving your coach off like that should get you bitch slapped. I don't care how big or rich you are.

If he gets suspended, he gets his rest on the 2nd of the back to back. Failure to leave the court in a timely manner might get him suspended. The foul shouldn't. Nash shouldn't have been suspended either. What do I know...

I would bet he gets just the one game. After numerous replays, even that is excessive.

He was going for the ball. If it were anyone but Shaq, a flagrant foul 1 or less is called. As others have said, I think the suspension comes from the failure to leave the court.
