Sharknado 2: The Second One (Syfy movie)

Syfy's 'Sharknado 2' Sets Premiere Date, Cameos

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/sharknado-2-premiere-date-cameos-686587

Syfy's Sharknado sequel has a premiere date.

Sharknado 2: The Second One will make its grand premiere on Thursday, July 31, at 9 p.m. PT/ET, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The follow-up comes a little more than one year after the original movie aired.

Blogger Perez Hilton will make a cameo in Sharknado 2, along with Biz Markie, Kelly Oxford and Salt-N-Pepa's Pepa (aka Sandra Denton).

Robert Klein and professional wrestler/Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle have also joined the TV movie, playing former New York City mayor and the FDNY fire chief, respectively.

Sharknado 2 centers on a freak weather system that turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a "sharknado" on the city's population and its most iconic sites, with Fin and April the only ones able to save the city.

Ian Ziering and Tara Reid reprise their roles as Fin and April, while new castmembers include Vivica A. Fox and Mark McGrath. Previously announced cameos include Kelly Osbourne, Judd Hirsch, Andy Dick and Judah Friedlander.

I'm stunned that master thespian Benjy Bronk's role was omitted from the press release.

Sharknado is probably the worst movie I ever saw. A close 2nd is Megaladon vs Crocasaurus. The fact they made a sequel is a sure sign of the apocalypse.

It was designed to be the worst movie you've ever seen. There can be a certain charm.to something so horrid.

No, there wasn't. There is funny ridiculous and then there's something like Sharknado. It was so incredibly bad that it ceased being funny about 3 minutes in. And the ending...ugh. I grew up on bad B movies all of which are Citizen Kane compared to this garbage. You're free to enjoy it. Not my cup of tea.

Spoilers if you care

Sharknado 2 was tonight. This is all you need to know about this movie:

There is a scene with Jared from Subway eating a Subway sub while waiting for the subway.

Oh I think enquiring minds will want to know a lot more about S2. Such as "are there really Sharks On a Plane?" and "does Will Wheaton really get eaten?". The answer to both of those questions is YES.

S1 was a bad movie, this one was intentionally worse. I enjoyed them both. If you liked the first one, you'll probably like the second one and if you disliked the fist one, you'll really dislike the second. Although that begs the question, if you disliked the first one why in the world would you watch the sequel?

I missed Will Wheaton. What scene is he in? As for why watch, it's like a car accident. You just can't look away.

Will has a brief cameo as a passenger at the start of the movie. And then he's eaten.

I saw enough of it to love the pilot of the plane at the beginning and some of the inside jokes there to other movies.

I just can't stand Ian Ziering and Kari Wuhrer has not aged well but I guess they're both over acting on purpose so not a problem.

The first 30 minutes or so is kind of fun to try and see how many "famous" people you recognize, like wasn't the doctor Billy Ray Cyrus?

Seemed like it accomplished what they set out to make I didn't watch the whole thing though.

Yes on Billy Ray Cyrus being the Doctor and I agree, Ian Ziering is hard to watch. Kari used to be one of my favorites but clearly she's dipped into the plastic surgery well several times too often (Vivica too). But it's safe to say, we don't watch these movies for their acting. Still, when Sharknado the series comes out I'll be hoping for a serious re-casting effort.
