If that is true, I think it's very smart to do that now. With Rosenhaus as an agent, my concern is he will hold out of training camp. This would let Boldin know he's just as important and prevent ego-bruising.

Uh, I don't think Drew Rosenhaus will let himself be upstood by Eugene Parker.

Plus, the situations are radically different. Boldin's salary this year is only 2.5mil, with a cap hit of 4. Of course, it will be easier to make him and his agent happy.

I think Q knows why Fitz got the money he did. If you ask many of us, Q is worth more than Larry, but you can't put his effects on paper. I think Rosenhaus will be the main reason this takes awhile. Great move by the Cards if you ask me. Q is a cornerstone for this franchise. Make and keep him happy.

Yep, he fired his original agent and Rosenhaus had him sit out of a minicamp to force the Cards to the table. Half the board wanted him traded, but he had a new deal within a couple of months.

What he said was that we have created a problem with giving Fitz this money because many people around the league feel that Q is a better WR than Larry and now Larry is making close to 4 times as much as Q.

He inferred that he wont be happy and will want to get a new deal. Not that they were working on one. Only that we have created issues with Quan now.

NEWS FLASH!!! We have 2 of the best WR in the game. I'd rather them get paid to be here than anywhere else. You are basically saying we can only win by paying all these players huge money. I agree that Wilson and Dansby should be payed. Maybe if someone other than this handful of players could perform, we would win more. A few made kicks here, tackles there. This core should be among our well payed. Do the Patriots have a football team full of enormous contracts? Their role players do their jobs and they win.

Besides the approach to Q was piss poor. We already know that the only thing they offered was to increase his base salary by 2 million per year. Nothing guaranteed. No player would exept that IMO.

I bet the Patriots and Colts would somewhat disagree with that. Two teams that are much better at the pass that have learned to be good at the run. Teams that are one dimensional rarely win anything. As for not being able to retain people, the Colts have managed to keep Manning, Wayne, Harrison and Freeney to massive deals. Some of their OLinemen are making good money too. The Patriots have kept 3-4 key players and recycled everyone else. Good teams pick a few guys to keep together and have to rotate the rest, it is a fact of football. Bad teams like the Cardinals historically were, let their best players go and hope for the best with a constant youth movement.
