More TL hate. Give it a rest. Please.
I'm not making this up, AZ. I am reacting to performance.

I am a D-backs fan, but I am not going to bury my head in the sand. I have been a National League fan since I was 11.

If any of our remaining games will have an effect on any other NL team, Miller should not be experimented with.

If it won't make a difference, Torey can experiment all he wants.

He’s gone after the season, maybe they are hoping for a perfect game performance to create trade interest? Better chance of hell freezing over first but anything is possible.

Torey clarified that he is hoping to let Miller pitch to a few batters. As long as the game isn't close, that's fine.

Otherwise, Miller and Bracho can set up a bridge table and play Monopoly in the bullpen.

His return is where I really felt the season unravel.

4 losses, all bad starts, 3 of them he destroyed almost any hope of a win rapidly, all of them taxing on the bullpen.

I honestly think that if Miller had missed the entire season this would still be a 3 team race.

The Shelby Miller experience has been an unmitigated disaster.

Apparently he is still not 100% ... today.

BB said they should just let it rest and give him a fresh start in Spring Training.

But then he hedged and said something like, well, maybe just a few pitches.

I doubt he'll be around next year. If they let him pitch it is as a favor to him, letting him showcase himself to another club.

Arbitration can be stupid when a player becomes terrible. Miller should probably be a non-roster spring training invite, but he's on our 40 man roster and has 1 year left of arbitration, so we'd have to offer it and in arbitration guys virtually never get a drastic pay cut, so we'd be on the hook for probably 5-6 million. Instead, we'll almost certainly non-tender him and be done with the fiasco.

If he really likes our organization we might be the team he decides to non-roster for in the spring, but if anyone offers him a guaranteed contract he will take it.
