Cardinals Host Kids Camp At Sacaton Middle School
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, April 18, 2005
Tempe, AZ – Arizona Cardinals running back Marcel Shipp and team mascot Big Red will host a Gatorade Junior Training Camp for 100 students at Sacaton Middle School on Tuesday, April 19 from 1-3 p.m.
The camp’s participants earned the right to workout with Shipp as a reward for having perfect attendance during the week of AIMS testing in the school (April 12-14). In years past, absenteeism during the week of AIMS testing has been higher than in other weeks.
The Gatorade sponsored camps, run in conjunction with elementary school physical education departments, are designed to provide children grades two-five with educational and recreational activities. A Cardinals player is joined by Big Red at each camp to help students learn non-contact skills such as passing and catching at a five-station interactive play area.
For more information, contact Chris Melvin with the Cardinals media relations department (602/379-1882).
