Highly unlikely that a trade down happens, so I wont be doing that again. Changed a few of the picks around becuase of it. Also based my top pick on this article -
http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2008/04/kowalski_on_wdfn_harveys_the_g.html
Pretty much is states that the Lions insider reporter thinks that Harvery is at the top of the Lions board and that Stewart is ahead of Mendenhall on their board as well.
#16 - RB - Rashard Mendenhall - Illinois - Becuase of the article above and the rumors in it Mendenhall could well actually still be on the board when we pick. I thought he wouldnt get by the Lions originally. Cards may want a CB here but I dont think they pass on Mendenhall.
#50 - CB - Justin King - Penn. St. - If he isnt there then hopefully Tracy Porter. Both solid CB prospects.
#81 - OL - Mike McGlynn - Pitt. - Wiz and Grimm have seen this kid grow up while in Pitt. Can and has played every position on the OL.
#116 - CB - Terrance Wheatley - Colorado - Much needed Speed in the secondary. I know he has had wrist injury history but he played every game last season so that could be nehind him.
#149 - DT/DE - Nick Hayden - Wisconsin - Dont let him being from Wisconsin cloud your judgement on him. Hard working kid, very strong, he is such a mauler he could be a penalty machine if he doesnt learn to harness that better. Not much of a pass rusher at all but could be a very run stout 3-4 DE, becuase of his mauler attitude, strength and motor. Not very athletic though.
#185 - OL - Adam Kraus - Michigan - This late in the game it is probably a good bet to bet on a Michigan OL. He isnt very strong or overly athletic but he does have the ankle bitter attitude and technique to work with.
#225 - WR - Armon Shields - Richmond - 6-1, 4.3's in the 40, 38 inch vertical, 3.9 short shuttle, 19 reps on the bench. Physical freak that a good WR coach would love to try and mold.
