I am not surprised about the trade, but more on how much the Saints gave up for him. Good move by the G-Men if Boss stays healthy.

The saints don't need a TE, they need a CB.

That said, what a scary offense they have!

they still need a workhorse RB. I don't think they can count on McCallister anymore. If he does get back 100%,they will awfully tough to stop.

I am more suprised that this didn't get done on draft day. I guess the Saints wanted him but not bad enough to give up this years picks. That is probably why they gave up so much since its on the come..

Agree completely. A 2nd and a 5th for a lousy blocker and me-me malcontent who the Giants really wanted to dump is a coup for the Giants.

Sure Shockey is a good receiver. He'd better hope his knee holds up on that turf. How many receivers can one team use? How many times a game will Shockey need the ball to be happy? And how will his ego handle playing in a very small market?

All the risk is borne by the Saints. The Giants played a winning hand well.

I think he will just get lost in Mardi Gras and never come back to the team.

I agree. He obviously didn't impact the team from winning the Superbowl, and was cited as a reason the team came together when he got hurt and wasn't around. G-men just made a great deal.

To answer your question " How many recievers can one team use?"
NFL Network said that Brees passed to Gates 25% of the time when he was with the Chargers. Plus Shockey had his best season with New Orleans head coach(name escapes me). Shockey is going to take a lot of pressure off the running game for the saints.
