So, the people that don't want him, do you really think the team is better with Powers at CB than DRC?

I didnt vote because id say yes but ultimately, not for a high cost at all. He doesnt tackle and hes not physical. if hed be cheap, id rent him.

Powers vs DRC is tough. DRC is better to cover but we dont have safeties really who can clean up with DRC decides to not tackle someone

I think during this NFL age a truly man to man cover corner that is not physical or a tackling machine is long gone. CBs now have to pressure the receiver, blitz the QB and tackle. DRC will get run over by those big receivers and TEs that have RAC ability.

I don't want him back based on reasons why AZ, PHI, and DEN got rid of him.

Doesn't Really Care nails it. Don't want the goof who lacks grit and acts like a punk at times.

No. He isn't a fit for this division nor is he a fit for our style of defense. It isn't that Powers is more talented, it is that Powers fits better because he does more things. DRC is a good player, but I am not going to pay 6 or 7 mil for a CB who will diminish the identity our defense built last year. He is not a fit.

But would you pay $3M on a one-year deal?

What I like about DRC is that he'll challenge Powers in training camp, he'll make our WRs work harder in training camp and get better, he adds speed to a defense that ABSOLUTELY needs more speed, he'll help our special teams and be a great pairing with Bethel on the edge of the kick block unit, and he'll be able to hold up on the outside and allow Powers to move to the nickel DB role.

He's absolutely be an upgrade over Antoine Cason--and I liked the Cason signing.

Arians is looking for size, speed and cover ability in the secondary, straight from his mouth. DRC brings all that, he is the best CB option left and would provide a huge upgrade over Powers. I mentioned in another thread, he was a Pro Bowler in his ARZ days. He may not be the best tackler but how many shutdown CBs are known for their tackling? He stated he would consider retiring if DEN won the SB and people are saying he doesn't care, well going out on top should be the way to go out. Maybe he wanted to leave the game to avoid major damage his body, whose anyone to judge a man for that? The comment made about him avoiding a collision with Steven Jackson, 182 pounds against 235 pounds running at full speed, I'm sure a lot of people do the same thing. I say if the deal is reasonable then bring him back.

I would like to see him back for another year just to see how he would do.... Pretty sure the Cards are not gonna do it though. I would be happy either way!

Yes.

Because if you run the ball at Powers there is a decent chance he will attempt to tackle the ball carrier, take on a block, or do something productive.

Also, Powers will get beat because of physical limitations in the pass game.

When DRC is on the field, there are 10 players playing the run on defense, and in the passing game for every good play he makes, he offsets that by getting beat while not paying attention.

Let DRC go play for the Titans.

So is Tedd Ginn.;) I have always wanted Ginn on the team. We got him

for less than Washington gave Andre Roberts.

The real question is can they bring him back? He is sure to have a number of teams interested. ARZ is no doubt loking for a CB but Keim may not be willing to meet the asking price and I can understand and appreciate that but DRC would really help this defense.

Yes, at 3 mil for one season, I sign him because he can matchup with an outside speed WR, and I don't know when Mathieu will be back. I don't know what kind of ST player he is at this point so I won't speak to that. He really has become a niche player on any roster that asks it's CBs to contribute in edge run support.
