We COULD go after Kirk Ferentz (Iowa), but I'd doubt he'd want to come here.
Shane H said:Still waiting for you to justify Greens on field in game decisions?
KingofCards said:Why is everyone saying it will set us back 3-4 years if we change coaches now? The new coach gets 3-4 years, but Denny gets 2?
Makes no sense.
Evil Ash said:He gets one more year, if they have a losing season he's gone. Its that simple
Those that think we are still going to pick a franchise QB in the first round are seriously fooling themselves
HarleyRider said:Why keep him using the logic that "it will take 3-4 more years for another coach to turn this around"?
Yes, it may take another coach a few years to turn this around, but how many more losing seasons do we have to have under Denny before we take that step?
Stop the bleeding now, cut your losses and move on.
We just got embarrassed by the Houston-friggin'-Texans.
Denny is an inept moron, who hires moron assistants out of friendship instead of resume.
He has to go.
HarleyRider said:I don't think it will set us back 3-4 years. I would just give a coach a 3-4 year contract and if in two years he shows that he is inept as Denny he gets the boot also.
My point is I don't think there is any reason to believe he can turn this around. Not next year or ten years from now. I don't believe he is a good coach.
SoCal Cardfan said:I say we let him handle the draft... then fire him.
KingofCards said:Hope your sitting down, cause I never said I was going to do that.
Russ Smith said:Valid point the poll should probably be posted later next week when people aren't so mad.
THe reason I used so few words in posting it was to try and avoid jading peoples opinion but minutes after this loss the poll IS pretty meaningless.
MaoTosiFanClub said:The Dallas comparison is stupid. They have always been the premiere franchise in the NFL even when they weren't geting the wins. Cincy is applicable, but they were fortunate enough to land a franchise QB and there was Pro Bowl talent in Rudi Johnson already on the roster.
DG has been a bust so far. His bungling of the offensive line and more importantly the QB and RB positions is why his ass belongs on the hot seat.
KingofCards said:I wonder if Mac will come back, because only someone of his ilk would except that contract.
"You have two years to rebuild the Arizona Cardinals or you are fired!"
"Uh, no thanks."
You act like Denny Green is the only one who makes inexplicable coaching decisions on game day. There are maybe four coaches in the entire NFL that make the right decisions on Sundays: Saban, Belichek, Parcells (sometimes), Shanahan(?)... and I don't know. You act like coaches who are excellent tacticians grow on trees, and that isn't true.Shane H said:Your defending him. So defend those> Defend not going to a hurry up Offense today?
Defend him letting the O coordinator call a sweep on fourth and goal at the four to Shipp our slowest RB?
Defend us being at the 30-35 three times the last two years and punting when we have the strongest legged kicker in the NFL and only being a 50-52 yard attempt?
Explain his terribly decision making in challenging plays costing this team many costly timeouts?
Defend how his teams show up mentally for games such as todays?
I could go on and on and on?

Russ Smith said:They were all desperate because Dungy and Lewis kept interviewing and not getting hired. We all heard Dungy wasn't outspoken enough, lewis was a great DC but not a HC etc. If they weren't desperate why did they take such lousy jobs? Why didn't they take a job with a better franchise? Because they couldn't get a shot.
the irony is Green helped Dungy get his job in Tampa.
HarleyRider said:That's not what I meant. I meant if there was SOME sign of improvement, some sign of hope for the future.
I could have dealt with 7-9 this year if the team looked like a real NFL franchise.
The team has beat the lowly 49'ers twice, Tenn, and St. Louis. ugh.
KingofCards said:I am saying he should be given more than 2 years to rebuild this pathetic team.
He should be gone if they lose next year.
Don't put words in my mouth though, Shane. You are barking up the wrong tree if you think I am going to defend Denny Green's decision making against the Texans.
You won't be able to find any posts on this board where I defend Denny Green's decision making during game play.
LVCARDFREAK said:Come on Russ, who on the Cards is equivelent to what the Bengals had on that defense? Takeo Spikes and Brian Simmons...both Pro Bowl LB'S...who did we have? Ronald McKinnon and Rob Fredreickon?
The talent was on those teams, there was almost zero talent on the team Mac left DG
kerouac9 said:Takeo Spikes wasn't a Pro Bowl OLB until he went to the Bills, I think. Part of that might have been because he played on the Bengals, though.
Shane H said:Ok then defend his personel decisons in FA with the signings of Reggie Swinton, Huff, Oliver Ross, Robert Griffith?
What is it you like and see that shows he deserves more time then? Enlighten me!
