Here is a trade proposal that fits the NFL value chart. If you were Green would you make this move or not?

San Diego trades it's 1st round pick (1st overall) and it's 5th round pick acquired from Miami (20th in the round) to Arizona for it's 1st round pick (3rd overall), it's 2nd round pick (33rd overall), it's 3rd round pick in 2005, and OT Anthony Clement.

San Diego gives up 3000 points (1st pick) and 35 points (5th round pick)-3035 points.

Arizona gives up 2200 points (1st pick 3rd overall), 580 points (2nd round pick 33rd overall), 110 points estimated (3rd round pick 2005 carries a 4th round value in the 2004 draft) and a player that has late third round value of about 140 points (Anthony Clement)-3030 or so points.

Jimmy Johnson always used the chart and if it added up he made the trade (if he wanted to guarantee picking a particular player). The Cardinals want Manning and might want to guarantee his selection.

This team needs all the draft pick to add more talent i don't think we can just give away picks esp when we need help on a lot of areas. If both QB are gone then draft the best player on the board or trade down to acquire more picks,

I wouldn't trade this season's second-rounder for anything. I'd consider trading the #3 overall, the third-round pick, 2005's second rounder, and 2005's 3rd rounder.

The thing about trading A.C. is that you're trading him when his stock is at the absolute lowest, you hurt your salary cap because it will accelerate immediately into 2004, and you don't get a whole lot of value from the big signing bonus he got two years ago. With SMAC's trade scenario, you also give up the pick you would have had to use to get a new ORT.

Just doesn't make sense.

Another trade up missive much like your others......you sure like to give away the farm with your strange scenarios. Thank goodness your not running our draft!

No way would I do that trade.

That sounds more like what a Charger fan would be hoping for in exchange for the #1 overall pick. Bottom line is , AZ isn't THAT motivated to move up, neither is anyone else in this draft. Who is the marquee player everyone is targeting..... Eli, Ben or Gallery, those are the only 3.

Who wants any of those 3, AZ, Pitt, Miami, NO, NYG, none of those will pay what they want, this is all what if and will never happen. I can't see anyone giving up anything like that trade to move up to #1 overall this year.

San Diego's absolute best chance in this draft is a trade with AZ, moving down to #3 and picking up a possible 4th rounder this year and maybe a 2nd OR 3rd next year. And that hinges on them being positive, the draft will leave them with Gallery still available at #3 overall. IMO, they will not find a better possible scenario out there, and since they won't they'll stay put and take Gallery #1 overall because they don't want to upset their fan base by trading down and not getting what is known as equal compensation.

1. AZ - Manning
2. Oak - Fitzgerald
3. SD - Gallery

I agree, that chart is only a guideline tool, not the true value of a pick in "every" draft.

Free Agency can change everything, time of course will tell.

No to that trade. I would be willing to offer swapping #1s, and giving our third and fifth rounders to get Eli. To me that would be fair.

Nope. Do not move up. We need too much and it will cost us too much to move up a spot or two.

I think SD or Oak will trade out of their pick and I don't think the one that remains will take a QB. I think one of the two will be available at #3. However, I am not convinced that Green want's a QB and I think, if anything, the Cards trade down to get some more pics or pics and a vet to help.

I agree 100% about this year's second rounder. I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THAT PICK! That will be a cornerback that is high-quality, like Vasher. There won't be really good corners in the third round, and we DESPARATELY need good young guys at that position. Any trade proposal that has our first and whatever else other than the second pick or an obvious no-trade-guy, then I'd think about it. But no way do we move the 33rd overall pick. No damn way in hell. That's almost going to be as valuable as our 1st rounder. I think this is gonna be a semi-deep draft, and deals are to be had in rounds 1 and 2.

No we are giving way too much just to move up. If Ben or Eli is not there draft defense. We all know we are in dire need of talent in this depleted defense we have. I would like to see the Cards try to offer at least a contract to Henson before we trade up since they are asking for 2nd round pick anyway if we can get him to sign with us. Chances are Dennis Green would sign a backup QB. Or trade down but not too far so we can still draft Rivers and acquire more pics.

NO deal. If Ben or Eli are not there, I am not opposed to trading down but still within the top 10 picks. If its below the top 15 picks, it better be a sweet deal indeed. I would like the Cards to take Ben, and draft defense with the majority of the remaining picks. We desperatly need to pick up a quality vet at Wr, DL, and CB. If we can get two by draft day, then are flexibility is that much greater. Graves and Green need to move fast when free agency starts. I would like Robaire Smith form the Titans. He is a good DT. Then eithier a speed WR, or a quality vet CB.
