Guys, vince is clutch and he is a veteran. His presence will always draw attention when he's on the court. Dudley is not starter material, he's a scrapper. Dudley is the perfect bench player, leave him there.. If anything I'd have Pietrus starting over Dudley.

Same thing goes for Gortat, he's fine coming off the bench, it works. Leave it that way. There are players that are better coming off the bench than starting.. Manu is a huge example of that person.

Just because a certain player plays better than a starter it does not mean that person should take that starters spot, let alone take them out of the rotation.

Why would you ruin something that is working perfectly fine right now?

What attention has Carter drew? He sucks. Nobody on any defense lists him even as a top 10 difficulty list when playing the Suns.

If anything, its a good thing for OTHER teams that Carter is on our team because it instantly gives them an advantage. I think its fair to say that in many of our losses this season, Carter has been the OPPONENT'S best player.

Gortat is not a typical substitute coming in for 6 minute clips at a time.

He gets starter's minutes coming off the bench.

If all you are looking is right now, it has improved the team. But working perfectly fine, not so. Not when we have blown so many 4th quarter leads.

Gortat's schedule of having to work 18 straight minutes in each half is not even what the starters have to endure. It is going to take its toll.

You were right in identifying it as right now. But, coaches have to plan for beyond right now as we progress further into the 2nd half and, hopefully, into the playoffs.

maybe the training staff should have VC shed some lbs, trim down a bit and get a little more lean. kind of like Hill has been doing with age.

I've never been a VC fan and he has not had enough quality games to change my mind. I'd rather cut him and bring in somebody with some future. He's not here past the end of the season, so why not give someone else the experience. BTW, Carlos Arroyo was released and I think he is better than Dowdell.

I agree with Eric on this one. Carter's problem is not motivation. His problem is that he is old. This happens to many players who rely heavily on their athleticism- age simply takes its toll, and their bodies simply can no longer handle that level of play.

Start him, bring him off the bench, or take him out of rotation- it doesn't really matter. It's not like we are talking about winning the championship this year, and he's gonna be gone next year anyway.

You do understand that if we cut him we're on the hook for all 18 million bucks on his contract next year, right?

Obviously they need to do a buyout. Otherwise they just leave him on the roster and forget him.

Its proving more and more evident that he should be left out.

ugh. Didn't get to see the game but after watching that video V. Carter was awful.
Like he said in the video, there was some home cooking going on with the foul on Gasol

It was a pretty good breakdown of the game, although the guy lost some credibility when he called Jared "Chris Dudley". Nice point about Kobe's foot coming down out of bounds on his miracle save... if the refs catch that (which would be hard real time) then the Suns would've been up 2 with the ball & probably win in regulation.

If only Jared was as tall as Chis Dudley all the Suns problems would be cured. Just imagine. :)

Then think of Gortat as well.

Have Carter play the 1st quarter and if he's actually hitting shots/getting to the free throw line then play him in the rest of the game. Otherwise have him stay on the bench for the rest of the game.

i completely agree with you
