It may be worth it to get 1 of the top 3 QBs....Darnold or Rosen would look nice in Red. Let DJ take the year off and tell Fits to sit this year. Again this is if we start out 1-4.....of we go 1-4 We are done and does nothing to be 7-9 !!! Thats the problem with NFL. Dont make the playoffs and you might as well be 3-13. Especially with the top 3 QBs this year.

0-2 we should tank. Lose to the colts and it's pointless.

QB biggest need going forward. Id rather not trade for or some crazy draft scenario involving high picks and a player.

What's the guarantee any of these qbs are any good in the NFL? Tank, draft a qb that sucks, and set our franchise back another 10 years. Perfect then we will find out which fans stick around when we suck again... I never cheer against the cardinals and I'm not going to for a QBOTF that might never pan out.

You never tank in the NFL.

There's less of a likelihood that one player is going to change your team, AND a better chance of any given Sunday coming into effect. Remember, we went to the Super Bowl as "the worst team in in playoff history."

I'm definitely concerned right now, but it's one game. Maybe Carson returns to form. Maybe Ellington returns to form. Maybe Blaine Gabbert starts and wins 11 straight games.

Other teams have rattled off wins in the past. Let's wait to call the season.

Ah yes, the fabled Chicken Little thread. September 11th, a little early this year. Kudos to whomever bet the under on this one!

So you are suggesting to got 6-10 if this scenario comes up? I'm saying if we go 1-4. Which is possible...especially how we look. Now if we are 3-2. Ok then. Play it out.
Never quit, it's cowardly in the NFL & speaks volumes as a persons character IMO.

If the season goes south you have to see what you have in Gabbert. See if you can get a pick for John Brown or Jared Veldheer too. As someone already said if they lose to Indy they won't have to tank.

Why would someone else want our throw-aways? Plus, Brown is a pending free agent and JV has a large contract.. neither is a tradeable asset.

As a fan I'm ok with it, but it doesn't happen in the NFL. Coaches know if they have a year that bad they're gone, so they won't tank. Comes down to job security.

I mix of that crossed with tanking being stupid

I mean you're basically calling them scrubs. It depends on how well they play and if other teams have injuries. I don't see either player being here past this year anyway so that's why you make them available. If nobody wants them so be it.

Wasn't trying to imply they were garbage.. but someone has to buy what you are selling, and there won't be any buyers lining up for those two.

The better question is, will all of the doom and gloomers eat their own crow if we start 4-1?

I'll eat it raw. Just don't see a 4-1 start. Just seems like deju vu all over again.

I would tank if we were 1-10 lets say. It would have to be extreme though. Now the NBA is a different story. Dynasties can be made by tanking.

We can't put all our eggs in the Josh Allen basket. A single pick can't change the pace of an organization, unless they have the proper pieces surrounding said pick.

Peyton Manning and a healthy Andrew Luck would like a word with you

Lot more involved in tanking than just losing games. One has to have a plan of some kind which includes cutting your older high priced players in order to have cap money to buy a couple of the younger stud FAs (instead of letting them go as we sometimes do). Then rebuild your team around your best young players, a couple of young top FAs, and then have a great draft to fill in the remaining most important spots. If not mistaken, I think the Jets are doing just that this year.

When we are free of Harry Fitzsimmons and Palmer Carsons salaries, we could replace them with low cost rookies and use that money to buy a couple top FAs. Just basic math, economics, and little luck in designing a great draft.

By the way, did you catch the success, I think it was the Vikings, who trashed their whole OL from last year and built a totally new one this season. They appear to have done a good job by not wuss-footing around with OLmen who couldn't get the job done. Maybe we need to take a lesson from that.
