The other reason Phoenix fans should be optimistic is because Stoudemire is back at practice. The 6-foot-11 power forward went five-on-five with teammates Wednesday and the results were encouraging. Stoudemire is coming along so fast, in fact, that some Suns insiders say they wouldn't be totally shocked if he suited up in the next week or so. For what it's worth, the mood among the Suns' coaching staff, which had been pessimistic about a quick return as recently as a week ago, had turned 180 degrees Thursday.

At the bottom of the article it said that Diaw is probably the NBA's most underrated player. Do you think that upsets Marion that Boris is stealing his thunder??;)

I hope we just take it easy get everyone healthy and only win enough games to be the 2 seed in the west. This is our best possible situation get everyone healthy and get Amare reintegrated into the system and make a run at the title this year! If all else fails we have to be a favorite next season our future looks bright very exciting!!! See you soon STAT!!!!!!

why they gotta make amare 6'11? b/c he's a "center" now? ridiculous.

just don't come back too fast amare. when it's right. when it's right.

man do i hate the spurs flops. ginofloppi killed me last night and i wanted to punch robert horry as he launched himself onto the floor when diaw put his had on him. i realize these didn't affect the outcome of the game, but they enrage me nonetheless. it's taking advantage of the game, not PLAYING the game.

I think that he's now 6'11' because he's posterized so many NBA centers. I'll bet they all are thinking he's 6'11" while they watch their personal poster being made.

Is it possible that he's 6' 11" now because, er, um ... he's 6' 11"?

Just a thought.

yea just think that a 19 year old might grow a little and add a few pounds over 4 years. i would like to see the nba update the listed weights and heights every year in training camp. if someone comes in out of shape the fans would know about it and could bag the guy for coming in fat.

i just got back from the club. after last call we went to joe's pizza, where we run into amare (and his psuedo-posse of like 4 people). this dude just hangs out and eats pizza with us. it was pretty cool, and no i didn't ask him about the injury or anything. we talked about women for the most part. what a crazy night...also, NO WAY he is 6'11''. more in the 6'9'' neighborhood. i'm 6'2'' and my buddies, who are in the 6'6'' range, just didn't see no 6'11''

AMARÉ CLOSING IN

Friday was also another good day in Amaré Stoudemire's rehab. D'Antoni said Stoudemire was closing in on day-to-day status after he played full-court, three-on-three to end practice. "We're down to the final stages," D'Antoni said. "The doctors say he's ready to go five-on-five and it shouldn't be long. It's just a matter of when he can get his mojo back and be ready to go."

That's cool that you didn't ask him about the injury. That took admirable self-restraint.

I'll bet that, if you saw Marion, you wouldn't even ask him about the form of his jump shot.

I know several pastors, and they're Suns fans with season tickets. One of them has a life-size (or very large) poster of Amare in his office. A five-year-old boy was in his office and asked, "Is that Jesus?"

No. Should have put it in blue, sorry. I was serious about the admirable self-restraint.

Yea.

I would have to ask him 2 questions before I left.

1. Can I get your autograph?
2. When will you be back out on the court?

Someone should'a replied "Can't you read? That's Black Jesus, it says so right on his neck!"
