NFLN just finished showing the 2006 Cards-Bears debacle, luckily without the postgame histrionics from Chili Dog Green. Two things stuck out.

1) Still completely unbelievable that we lost that game despite dominating the previously high powered Bears offense.

2) How throughout the game the ESPN broadcasters (Tirico, Theismann and Kornheiser) kept saying how awful it will be if the Cards cannot hold on for a victory. They said it so much, it made it come true.

3) Given a 14 point lead, Denny Green's offense was as imaginative as a piece of toast. No killer instict when they had the chance to put the game away.

1) How can you show that game, and then not show the post game interview?
2) That game was an instant classic.

I still have nightmares about that game. I was in the 4th row in the corner of the endzone and i still couldn't believe it. Even Rackers missing that 20 something yard FG to tie! blah i don't want to talk about it or even think about it anymore.

Yeah, they need to refilm it with a different ending. Are there any fans worse than Bear fans and Cowboy fans?

I was dancing in the living room, drinking beer. Cheering and seeing a 1-4 turnaround. Then it all happened.

I have no idea what game you guys are talking about.

:mulli:

I rewatch the game. But only to the first half. That way I leave with visions of us kicking the crap oiut of the best team in the NFC and being up 20-0

I woke up in amsterdam to a text from a mate telling me how we'd choked away a big lead.

Still remember that gut wrenching feeling, though the score was only part to blame...

My TV should have just stood up and kicked me in the groin. If I ever invent time travel I'm going back in time and stopping myself from watching that game. I literally aged 3 years that day

You can watch every football game, at every level, for the next 100 years and you'l never see another team that scores 3 points on offense and has six turnovers win like the Bears did. Maybe a 3-0 game in a blizzard, but not on three TD returns in perfect weather.

Rackers missed a 42 yard FG to win. A huge choke job.

But no worse than Warner fumbling the ball after St.Louis had given the game back to the Cards earlier in the season. Or the defense falling asleep and letting KC go from 1st and 10 at their own 13 to 1st and 4 from the AZ four yard line in order to blow a 10 point 4th quarter lead against the Chiefs.

Also not much worse than letting Vinny Testaverde throw a 65 yard TD pass and then follow that up by allowing DeAngelo Williams to run 75 yards up the middle to set up the winning TD for the Panthers.

The Bears game is just one in a long, long line of Cardinal mishaps.

Can I add onto that list of nightmares??

How about last year where Rackers missed a 20 something yard FG in overtime against the 49ers and then Warner fumbling the ball in his own endzone only to be recovered by the 49ers...God I was soo pissed that day.

Not to mention the 'skins game last year. Q couldn't get the 2 point att. We get the ball and Rackers misses. It was 55 yards but I was heartbroke.

Since I'm a glutton for punishment, I watched the entire thing last night. What stood out most to me was the post game interview with Urlacher.

"Brian, how did you guys turn it around?"

"Um, well, they weren't blocking me in the 4th qtr so it was easier." :bang:

I don't think the offense did so badly; they were still throwing the ball and they got into field goal range....

Freaking CornyHeiser jinxed us!
