Nick Foles ?

I do not get it.

Didn't the Cardinals learn the first time from selecting an Eagles back up ?

Didn't the Cardinals learn the second time from selecting a Superbowl MVP ?

There will be free agents available that have the skill Nick Foles has for way less resources, and higher ceilings. Foles is a streaky QB, this is not the first time he has put up great numbers in his career. He has yet to show he can sustain it, heck, look no further than his first couple of starts before the playoffs.

Then again, I am the fan who is trying to sell Teddy Bridgewater, so I do not have much room to talk, LOL!
If Foles were available I could see the inclination to trade for him as a stopgap. No way do I see him costing more than a 2nd round draft choice, again if Eagles choose to let him go. Josh Allen could be available at #15 but if the Cards need to move up, that will cost them a whole bunch more than a 2nd rounder.

However, when Foles gets on a hot streak look out... Super Bowl. :wink2:

Not seeing the potential in Gabbert at this point. Physical ability perhaps but he's had enough opportunities to show what he can do and he just isn't a good decision maker or very accurate with the ball. The Cardinals could essentially sign ANYBODY off of an NFL roster and be in as good(bad) of shape. If they were that desperate, there wouldn't really be any point anyway. McCown, Fitzpatrick, Anderson...literally any starting caliber QB would be as good, or better of an option.

Suppose Gabbert has a healthy Johnson, a catching TE a few more WRs who can catch the ball and an OC unlike BA? Is he a different QB then. The price is right and the potential is there. He'll probably end up as the backup in Green Bay or New England.

Anything's possible but I don't see it for him. He's underperformed wherever he's been as a pro so it's hard to give him the benefit of doubt at this point. When I've watched him play, I feel like it is him that's making the mistakes as opposed to him playing well and being held back by bad play calling, poor personnel, etc.

Maybe he finds that perfect situation but I don't see this as a Jake Plummer situation where he was a good QB on bad teams. Gabbert, IMO, just isn't accurate or a good decision maker. Both killers in today's NFL.

Chris Simms just said there are more bad OCs than bad QBs in the NFL. He might have something there.

Isn't Chris Simms a perpetual victim though? I don't necessarily disagree that there are some bad OC's but coming from Simms, it's hard to just accept the statement.

Where do you come up with these things. Oh my this one may be numero uno.

Was it really necessary to be a dick? Debate the post, not the poster.

Chris Simms might have had the worst pocket presence of any QB which every played... he couldn't sense a locomotive coming five yards away, or Godzilla with theme music

I have no problem with the Cardinals signing Gabbert to be the #3 QB for league minimum. He could even be the #2 until whoever we draft at QB is ready.

Oh come on now - I could win with Keenum, Bradford, Bridgewater, foles, cousins, Brock, Gabbert, possibly Stanton and Matt Barkly and more. I make the QB less important and share the burden by running and pounding fundamentals of blocking and tackling. You know I would have kept AP, CJ and DJ - DJ would have gotten minimum 20 touches per game- CJ and AP 5-10 depending on who had the hot hand. Taking pressure off the D and ST - so they could play great - drew Bree’s is great always the saints are great when their running backs grease Brees wheels - just like Brady and all of them.
