You can bring a horse to water…
Except you keep poisoning that water with iron clad assumptions that aren’t based on anything (a doctor wouldn’t have ruled him out/there’s no one they could have got anyway).

There’s nothing reported that the Suns asked for a determination on his status before the season. I suspect because they knew he wasn’t going to be ready, they were already being taken to task for sitting on 4.5 million of the MLE and didn’t want to be scrutinized for sitting on an injury exemption as well. That’s my theory. Do I know it to be true? No. But when a guy tears his ACL in JULY, there is practically ZERO CHANCE he comes back and is in shape to play, at the most elite level in the Finals much less, the following season that ends in June.

And again, we’ve seen the Nuggets get an exception in similar circumstances just this season.

I believe the plan for the Suns was to keep Saric or trade him. The Suns were never going to spend more than the partial MLE, maybe not even that.

They did spend the minimum on Biyombo.

It's almost like James Jones was allowed the freedom to sign core players this past summer if he budgeted the money thereafter.

Larry Nance Jr., who was traded to the Pelicans, is scheduled to have surgery on right knee on Friday.

In a statement that should shock no one... Saric ruled out for the year.

I
And yes, the Suns should have asked for this determination at the beginning of the season to give themselves an exemption to try and improve the team.
Saric's contract is being included in almost every trade deal we are considering. It could not have been if we had gotten injury relief. They already had one exception they weren't using.

What’s to think about? You get a player who actually steps on the court over one who hasn’t played all year

The 76ers would also have to trade Ben Simmons. I guess it could be a three-way trade. The devil is in the details.

It could be roller coaster ride if it happens. The Nets don't want to lose Harden for nothing as he looks headed elsewhere in free agency.

Really hoping we can at least get a body in that can give Book/CP a break.

Donte DiVencenzo will help the Kings and Serge Ibaka will give the Bucks another inside threat.

DiVencenzo was well liked by fans.

I'm sure he is unless he sees something that he believes will improve the team. We're still a good bet to grab a buyout player or two and as far as I know, we've gone back to the March 1st deadline on that (it was changed last year because of the late start). Anyway, the trades end today and then we have a few weeks for the buyouts to occur and then a few teams will get richer - hopefully we'll be one of them.
