I'm the opposite. I try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. I don't even watch trailers for the most part anymore because they generally spoil too much these days.

I am like @oaken1, if it's a great movie, you can tell me the whole plot at lunch, and I will still enjoy watching it at night. Plus now days, most movies are rip offs of prior ones. So you in essence know the movie to start. IDK how many I have predicted to my wife the outcome early on in the movie, but they were still really good.

Good and bad news...the show was approved for seasons 3 and 4 ...apparently to finish the book trilogy.
Season 3 started filming in October 2024...for release in October 2026?? WTF?? There is zero valid reasons why it should not be released by this May or June.

The more advanced our technology gets the less efficient Hollywood gets. Maybe they should go back to hand cranked cameras

A Lot of it depends on Apple as well. They have release windows that are tied to marketing efforts. I know it's easy to blame the production, but it's not always that, especially for an fx heavy show.

Released by this May or June? Oaken… I don’t think you really understand how TV works so let me give you a basic breakdown of what the schedule could look like if Season 3 was just picked up.

First, that means you have to start the writers room back up, negotiate deals, read new writers… that takes a couple weeks. Then to generate 8-10 scripts that takes a minimum of 3-4 months breaking in the room before writers are sent to script. Now throw in the time it takes to write and get each script noted and approved by apple and you’ve probably got another 2 months devoted to scripts. That already takes us into June… when you think the entire show should already be written, shot, and edited through post.

So now, we’re in June… where there’s still probably at least a month of prep before production. So, let’s generously say they start shooting in July. Then you have an FX heavy show that slows production. I’ll be stingy and say 3 months for production (but likely more). Then you probably have another 3 months of post. Which basically takes you to Feb 2026 before the show is even ready to stream. Then you have to figure in a marketing period… say a month. Now we’re at least in March 2026. At that point, it’s not like it’s Apple’s only show. There’s other stuff on the runway. And maybe they’ve found that the show does best in the fall.

It’s not just… hey… we’re picked up, let’s start shooting tomorrow. There are a million different things/hurdles that need to happen/overcome to make a season of TV.

Started production in October (and possibility without all the scripts being done) and then launching 7 months later? Wow. That doesn't happen with non-fx heavy shows, let alone one like this.

If that is true, than that 2026 timeframe is absolutely dictated by Apple and their marketing calendar.

They might also be taking into consideration Season 4. If they are filmed back to back, they may be looking at a 2027 release for season 4. But it has to be planned out. Just releasing something as soon as it's "done" doesn't happen in the streaming world. It's a lot different than traditional tv that has a structured release schedule of the fall and spring.

I can't wait I'm reading the books this summer.

And I hope we get the spinoff of Silo 40 on the new Trilogy Howey is writing.

Had to be renewed much much earlier than the announcement if true. No writer is writing scripts for seasons that aren’t renewed/getting paid for.
